I think Rob should stop making movies in General. Haven't seen a single thing directed by him that I did enjoy.

Then don't watch his movies. The man has fans. There's no reason why he should stop making movies. Nobody's forcing anybody to watch anything they don't want to.

Jeez nice of you to be rude about it. I am forced to watch his movies and I have a good reason as well (not being sarcastic). So don't assume things before making a statement.

Plus what happened to respecting other's opinion even if you disagree with it. I had an opinion and shared it.

Anyways, no hard feelings from me and hope you feel the same way.

The OP has too much time on his hands. I've never liked Zombie's music but his films are decent and not one of the best. His movies are good to watch if you're in the mood for a shallowed storyline and brutal murders.

I agree with this comment.

Also, the OP is why I don't blind-buy movies, there's too much risk with something that I may or may not like.

What was so bad about Hellbilly Deluxe II? It reminded me of his first solo album, something he had lost in both The Sinister Urge & Educated Horses. The single "What?" is probably one of the best songs he's ever recorded.

I never said they weren't good albums. In fact Educated Horses takes 1st place, but Hellbilly Deluxe II wasn't by any means terrible.

Luckily I have not seen it. Why was Rob Zombie allowed to make it? Why did Hollywood give him millions of dollars to make it? Because he has sold 15 million music albums. Hollywood producers are greedy money-mongering *******s.

I haven’t either and would rather go to the dentist than watch garbage like this. Why does everyone that does music assume they’ll be good at movies and vice versa? I can’t stand cross industry people since they usually suck at one or the other. Hell, Rob Zombie was annoying as a musician too, if you can even call him that. Cmon.

House of 1000 Corpses - I rewatch it frequently, especially the opening gas station sequence. The thing he missed out on the most was exploring the Dr. Satan aspect and underworld more.

The Devil's Rejects - Great film, but leaving out Dr. Satan and the gas station attraction at the beginning were huge misses and kind of disconnected it from the first film for me.

3 From Hell - Eh, could do without this one although it does have its moments. Losing Sid Haig kind of ruined the third film.

Halloween - I think this film is brutal and I enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was the prison rape scene, but I despise any rape scene in any film.

Halloween II - Did not enjoy this one. The only sequence I did enjoy was the Halloween party/concert.

Lords of Salem - Enjoyed this, eerie feeling like the first Rosmary's Baby film, just missed a bit on the creature at the end. The music, witches, atmosphere...all great.

The Munsters - I enjoyed this one, but I understand what he was going for. Basically a 70's early 80's Halloween made for tv special. His little acting troupe has always been lacking, but so was the acting in the old Halloween tv specials that we all loved as kids.

31 - I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would; however, the rape stuff will always piss me off.

Overall, his films are about 60 good/40 bad with me. He has touched on something great several times, but tends to miss the mark by the end of the film. A lot of missed opportunities. My biggest knock on Zombie is that the rape stuff is appalling.

You know it’s garbage despite not seeing it? Come on, be better than that.

Easy answer. Rob was a bankable director at the time. That movie made $60M off of him, and held the highest opening Labor Day weekend until just recently. I don't really like the movie, but there it is.

Exactly! I haven’t seen it. But it sucks! Really insightful, well thought out post.

Personally, I would take RZ H2 director’s cut over 4,5,6,H20 and Resurrection.

Ok, ... my apologies to Rob Zombie if he did a good and honest work of art here with lots of talent and integrity. If so, let him prosper. For all I know he may even be a better film director than John Carpenter. My post was aimed at Hollywood procedure in general. Too much commercial and debased pc garbage coming out of that place.

So, a movie (and it’s director) makes big swings and gives us something very different, and you are complaining about the Hollywood procedure? You just aren’t making sense.

Sometimes, it’s best just to say nothing.
