So how do I find out if this thing is region free or not. I don't have a region free player and I don't want to waste money getting one that can only be played with a region free player or from that particular region. It was said that it wasn't by one person and chaos site states it is. Can anyone confirm it or not? Also is the M rating section on the front permanent or is it a sticker or part of the wrapping? I've never bought one from over seas before. Any help would be appreciated!

That won't probably be verified until it is released. However it is a Sony pictures title and they rarely release titles that aren't region free.

I can confirm that the disc is region free. I have it in hand. My first steelbook purchase - yeah, a little late to the party, I know!

Well this is the first time in Australia that a steelbook has been in wide release. Thankfully Sony didn't jack up the price because of it. Both Knowing and Transporter 3 from Icon were optional steelbooks with them being about 30-40% more expensive than the standard amaray on day of release.

At the moment I think this is the only version retailers have as the three retailers I visited all had this edition. How limited the run is would be anyone's guess, but I imagine the standard amaray version will start showing up in stores within a few weeks. That happened for the slipcased 3-disc Transformers: ROTF and the 3-disc Star Trek. Both had started to be replaced by standard 2-disc editions within 1-2 weeks. Most other titles with a steelcase, slip cover or extra disc have been a particular retailer exclusive so it's been harder to gauge, but I suspect at this price this title will be selling quite quickly so only the retailers that charge an arm, a leg and possibly your right eye will still have stock after a little while.

I believe I paid 32.00 shipped from Chaos. I felt this was a great price considering. FutureShop kills the price because I need a middle man.

BTW - Chaos has some of the best customer service on their end. My card kept being declined and they thought I gave them the wrong CID #, After a phone call, I told them my bank wasn't receiving the pre-auth so it was on their end. Low and behold they held the order until they got their error fixed.

That's a really good deal for the steelbook + shipping. That's only $5.50 US more than the cheapest price to buy it in store here in Australia (local retailer Big W has it for $28.98 ($26.54 US) so you've done well there.

I haven't bought from Chaos before, only because funnily enough their prices locally are quite expensive. For instance this steelbook, even when they had the 10% discount, was still $7 more than Big W. Fortunately it seems they're good for importers!
