Did anyone else get the most depressing ending possible? I lost Norman Jayden at the auto parts yard, then I couldn't save Shaun, and so Ethan commits suicide in front of Madison. Then, Shelby comes back, and Lauren caps him in the face. It actually made me tear up a little, knowing I had made everything go so wrong.

Or he can shoot himself in the face in his hotel room, if he drove to the wrong location at the end, instead of the warehouse. Of course it'll only happen if no one save Shaun. Again, my equation. Give it a shot. Quote:

There is one where if Shaun Dies and Madison lives, she is crying in her apartment while the guy who gave her the Dr's info is talking on her answering machine. He is concerned because he hasn't heard from her for days. She is then surrounded by the assailants she fought off earlier in her dream.

Yeah, they should let you skip that after the first play through.
Also, another thing I don't like when going through the game multiple times, you already know some parts of it so the timing ends up being a little off (b/c you do things too quickly). Like when the wife tells me to get the dishes, I know where they are now so I'm already getting them when she yells at me for not getting them fast enough. Then, in the mall, I kept up with Shaun after he gets the balloon. So, I'm standing close to him waiting for things to trigger when he suddenly disappears and reappears downstairs. |

First off, I've heard that there exist 22 different endings for Heavy Rain - is this true? If not, what's the actual number?
Second, first time around playing the game, I completed it with all four characters still alive. The second time I played the game, all characters were still alive, however, the ending consisted of Madison and Ethan only without the help of Norman. Hence, I've noticed once finishing the game, there are the "bonus" materials option along with the ability to load a certain chapter of the game. Thus, when it comes to attaining all the different endings, can we just load the last few chapters and just change the decisions from there or do we actually have to play the entire game again, etc? Your advice on what is the easiest way to attain the different endings would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

GAH!!!
So I was three trophies away from Platinum. I had all but two endings and two bronze trophies left. The PS3 glitch caused my Heavy Rain trophies to disappear from the console I was playing on. Now that I can connect to PSN they are still missing despite resynching. I load up Heavy Rain and in the trophy section it says no trophies earned. I have a slim and the trophies do show up there. The problem is the save data is locked and can't be moved to the slim. So my options are to start all over on my fat console. Or Play through every ending and get the two bronze trophies on my slim. Both options suck. Any ideas? EDIT: Nevermind. They are back. Apparently the key is to start the game, exit the game, and then resynch the trophies. They magically reappear. Example, load a chapter where you want the characters to die and let that story flow. Keep repeating over and over. As I said, all endings are just a matter of combinations. You either get everyone dead, or everyone alive, or some live and some dies. Last edited by Blu-Generation; 03-02-2010 at 01:55 AM. |

The glitch was date-related to Feb. 29 (which doesn't exist in 2010, hence why some older PS3s were having issues). All systems should be working fine now (and Sony has four years to go before they have another such potential problem, so I'm sure it'll get silently fixed in a firmware update at some point).

I HATE the QTEs in this game. I messed up ONE time and Norman (the fbi guy) gets killed and I don't get the "four heroes" trophy. So I reload and beat that part. Then, once again, ONE slip up and I take a sledge hammer to the forehead and die. This game is just as annoying as it is beautiful. |
