Default Cowboy Bebop and other anime..

Can we expect full series like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell ever come to Blu-Ray?

I am debating whether I want to purchase them on DVD or is there still hope.

Cowboy Bebop the Movie is available in Japan. You can find it on yesasia.com for about $80.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is available in Japan in 2 parts(3disc each) for $230
Ghost in the Shell Second Gig is also available in Japan in 2 parts(3disc each) for such high prices.

no announcements for US releases so far.

There is already an ongoing anime thread and we discuss all these topics there.

I thought Cowboy Bebop: The Movie had no English audio or subtitles?

Yeah, I don't really watch any other anime either, but Cowboy Bebop is awesome! It would be really cool even if the movie was released, let alone the series...

What he's implying is that YOU should ask the question in the Anime thread to get your answer (or do some searching, which isn't to hard).

Just got Ghost in the Shell 2.0 and it looks and sounds great on Blu-Ray. I wish the series was released in the US.

FUNImation now has the license for Trigun and are releasing a complete collection on DVD in October. I wouldn't be too surprised if they'd also do a blu ray release... they, more than any other anime company, seem to be dedicated to getting blu ray out there.

Well it was supposed to be released as a dvd and Blu-ray versions of the whole series simultaneously but now just looks like dvd for now and Blu-ray version later on. It's possible they might be waiting for the Trigun movie but do have my doubts on that.

I'm not a huge anime fan, but I would buy Cowboy Bebop and YuYu Hakusho in a heartbeat. Love them!

Default Black Dog Serenade Japanese Blu-ray PQ

I have the Japanese DVD Remastered Boxset, and the aforementioned episode shows clear signs of compression towards the end, when Jet, the fugitive, and his old partner are in the dark corridor of the ship. To the point of looking very similar to a Youtube upload. Granted, there are other moments in the remaster when heavily unlit areas show compression, but this particular instance is extremely distracting. Does the Japanese Blu-ray fix this, or not? Thank you.
