Would your inclination to believe in the possibility of Iron Man 3 have to do with

They originally planned on doing 3, so it most likely that they will stick to that and do 3. But Fav has also floated the idea that Avengers could serve as Iron Man 3 (which I hope they don't do, because we need more Downey Jr as Stark ).

Also, when you think about it, the 3 films would span from 2008 until at least 2014.

Downey will be 48 or 49 when the films conclude

The best thing to me was the interaction between Stark and his suit's OS, I hope they keep up with that in the next one. I'd also like a trilogy, provided the 2 sequels can live up to the first outstanding film.

I believe Iron man 2 will easily be better than the first. I loved the first but the 3rd act definitely could have been better

I hope Iron Man 2 is to Iron Man as TDK is to Batman Begins (an even greater sequel to an already great movie).

Of course my inclination has to do with that. And yeah, I've heard Favs say that about IM3 being Avengers, but I also think he said if IM2 did well then IM3 was almost inevitable. And as long as RDJ stays healthy, I think he'll easily be able to portray Stark (and hopefully Holmes), even at that age.

I think in the special features of Iron Man RDJ said something about not being able to do this forever...but as long as he can keep it up for 2 more movies I'm happy

Side note- I originally started calling him Favs because I couldn't spell his name...but I ended up liking it as a nickname for him so it stuck for me

Interesting discovery and theory due to those Minimate toys: http://comicbookmovie.com/fansites/P.../news/?a=15715

The Hot Duo:
James Rhodes in Mark II Armor and Black Widow

Hmmm, Iron Man did fight his Mark II Armor... I wonder how this would ensue.

I also love how Justin Hammer ALSO has a large ring on his pinky finger. Everything is coming together quite nicely.

Sam Rockwell isn't being used at all in promotion material. How much of a role does he have? Is the media once again trying to hide Rockwell's talent?

I think it was stated a few pages back that he wouldn't be able to promote the movie because he's on Broadway doing a play. At least that's what I thought I saw

OT:

Yo Diesel, you been following the development of F&F 5 and the new Riddick movie? Sounds like at least 2 more F&F movies.

Anyway, back on topic, I regret that I never followed Iron Man too much when I was younger. I know a lot about X-Men, Batman and Spider-Man and a lil bit more about Hulk, but not Iron Man. I'm still a big fan however.

But I still knew his suit-case suit was something special and something only real fans would appreciate. So for those of you who knew exactly what it was referring to, I solute you

Yeah that was probably me but the no use of him in trailers and action figures is what I'm complaining about. Not that I think figures are a good thing for a movie lol but he's still supposed to be one of the main villains. Give people an idea of him.

No metal suit = no action figure

Mickey Rourke/Whiplash is much more marketable of a villain, that's why he is getting the most media attention and Rockwell's character isn't getting much. It isn't a slight against Rockwell, just that his character (a challenging businessman) isn't exactly one you building a trailer/marketing campaign on.

Average Joe that knows nothing about the comics sees the trailer with the guy in a business suit the whole time making deals = not so impressed.

He sees the bad*** Russian walking down the track with the electrical whips and cutting the car in half and giving his little speeches = HELL YEA I'M SEEING THAT

Touche but we don't know if Rockwell will done a suit or not. He hinted in an interview he does do some fighting and then he said he doesn't and I doubt they made him young just to make him more appealing.

Possibly, considering all those suits in the trailer
They'll probably save that for a surprise in the theater.

Also, his character isn't the main villain, I forgot to put that in my original post.

Well he is sort of one of the main. He's the businessman trying to run Tony out of business. Sort of like Obadiah. He just ends up hiring Whiplash. Sort of like Ras As Ghul in Batman.

I don't remember them featuring Jeff Bridges in the first movies marketing either. They are obviously marketing the success of the first.

Your correct, there were a few very quick shots of the Iron Monger suit and one of Bridges (about to get in the suit) and that is it.

The trailer was 99% Tony Stark/Iron Man.
