Default The "Halloween" Series on blu?

What do you guys think? We already have the original on blu. Lets get the other 6. The only thing that sucks is that Halloween II is owned by Universal.

If I remember correctly:

2 and 3 are Universal.

1, 4, and 5 are Starz/Anchor Bay.

The rest are Dimension.

Universal can have 3. But 2 is a damn good sequel. The others while I hate how they dive into trying to explain Michael Myers they are still entertaining horror movies.

There would already be a Box set out in the US if it weren't owned by all these different studios. But the first 8 movies are out in the UK already on DVD. I wish it would come out in the US though

It looks like Anchor Bay/Starz has the rights to the whole series in region 2.

Perhaps they could release a Blu set in the UK with no region code.

Actually, by the time part 2 and 3 were released on DVD in the US, their rights belonged to Goodtimes Home Video. Universal only released the VHS and Laserdisc versions. So, with that in mind, lets hope they will get US release on Blu-ray sometime in the near future.

I know a lot of people loathe part 3, but I truly think it was a great story, just not necessarily as part of the "Michael Myers" Halloween series. It could have been and probably should have been released independently from this series.

I think I am in that minuscule group that likes Halloween 3 "The Season Of The Witch" I think the reason most people hate is because it is called Halloween 3 and has no Michael Myers. I think if it would have been called simply "The Season Of The Witch" it might have been better received.

It's true that Goodtimes released 2 and 3 for the first time on DVD.

But the most recent DVDs of parts 2 and 3 were released by Universal.

In fact, Universal just released a part 2 and 3 as a double feature a few months ago.

Actually, it was John Carpenter's idea to move off of Mike Myers (it was only the low budget title-grabbing weasels at the other studios who brought him back), and move on to an exec-produced "Halloween Tales" anthology format--
And the first screenwriter he wanted to use, as a horror-film buff, was Nigel Kneale of the "Quatermass" series, and his talent for writing weird sci-fi-apocalyptic stories like "Five Million Years to Earth"/"Quatermass & the Pit".
(Think of the UK Quatermass as basically "Doctor Who on a really, really, REALLY bad day. ")

Unfortunately, after Kneale saw what director Tommy Lee Wallace did to it, he took his name off the credits, leaving it up to us Quatermass fans to point out the faint resemblance to what the mess was "supposed" to be, and try to get more viewers to rent "Five/Pit", as it's just one of the coolest sci-fi films ever made.

I'm guessing this is being brought up because of AMC's recent runs of the Halloween series. This is interesting though, I wouldn't mind seeing this and a couple of other horror movie box sets released on Blu-Ray.

AMC is showing 1-6 on Halloween. But I've always wanted a box-set of all the Halloween movies and it made me mad when they released it in the UK and couldn't here in the US. But with Halloween being released on Blu-Ray it's kind of giving me hope (not sure about the rest of you all on here) even though I know the whole series won't come out on Blu-Ray

The release of the entire series on Blu-ray is dependant on how quickly Blu-ray will catch on with the masses. Just remember the DVD release of the entire series, it took quite a few years before all of them were available on that format.
