and another thing is that there are a lot more BD players available... PS3, Sony, Pioneer and Samsung... while I've only seen Toshiba and XBox for the HD-DVD... point being, these companies have been marketing the BD players while HD DVD marketing has virtually been non-existent...

as for the discs themselves, theres an HK company (I don't remember the name) thats distributing a bunch Blu-Ray of movies, while I think all of the HD DVDs are imported...
