I have certaily gotten spoiled by Blu, and not just for the picture. I rented MOON from redbox, SD only where I live so far. It was sad how flat it sounded....though I haven't actually compared that to Blu.

I rented 2012 at the same time...really needed to know what I thought of the movie. I've since bought that on used Blu....yet to watch it.

I buy TV shows in SD, though most of the ones I want aren't available on Blu. I have upgraded most of Dexter & Lost to Blu. I would probably not do that if The Shield comes to Blu....with 7 seasons, the replacement would be darned expensive.

I do own the first season of Sons of Anaarchy on blu....lucked out with a blind-buy on a miss-marked price at a pawn shop. I'm now addicted to that show....if it goes 7 season, guess I'll buy on Blu, one year at a time.

i sold most of my DVD collection when HD DVD titles were announced. gave away most of it when i started HD DVD collection/ then BD. then got rid of HD DVDs. BD-only... unless i really really wanted somn on DVDs.

i usually don't buy sitcoms =P. not funny beyond 1 viewing imho. i rent those.

The only shows I buy on DVD are shows that I don't think will be out on blu anytime soon. Like:

Johnny Quest the complete season
Star Trek the animated series
Scooby Doo Season 1 and 2
Star Wars{but I bought that years ago}

I haven’t bought a DVD since 2006. My last DVD purchase was Dark Knight and Star Wars Revenge of the Sith.

I have no interest for TV shows, they’re not even worth a rental for me.

Strictly Blu for me. The only exception are kids DVD's like Scooby-Doo, etc that aren't yet available on Blu.

But I do get Pixarand Disney releases like A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc, Pinocchio, Cars in Blu. Just like I did with VHS, I have given away most my DVD's that I now have on Blu.

The Wire is the only dvd I ever bought. If it ever comes out on Blu I might upgrade for a good price.

I've been thinking that myself....especially with Best Buy's annual 50%-off HBO DVD's sale. We've now seen two of those and I've not purchased The Wire complete

I just buy TV series on DVD. I buy everything else on Blu, and I am patient to wait on the BD if it isn't out yet.

I only buy BD's now. I don't own too many TV shows, usually aren't worth more than one viewing, so that's not a factor. I do plan to purchase Sons of Anarchy when I can find it for a good price, I'll rewatch that one a few times.

A friend recently bought In Bruges for me, but that hasn't been released on Blu-ray yet (in the US at least).

Does not compute.....

Might want to recheck your dates and facts there, since you seem to be off by a couple years....Dark Knight was not released until December of 2008...

Same here, but that's only part of my reason. The list of reasons as to why I won't upgrade my television collection to Blu-ray are numerous, but that philosophy doesn't apply to movies, all of which must be on Blu-ray.

I buy some TV shows on standard dvd if I feel they won't hit blu for awhile, like I still have to get around to purchasing the final season of The Odd Couple, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I also have two seasons of M*A*S*H and two seasons of Seinfeld but am gonna wait on those because I feel these two shows will be great candidates for blu when blu TV starts to hit it's stride.
Yes I love Pokemon and still have a couple of those box sets to purchase as well.
Movies, for the most part, I will wait for a blu release before purchasing more.

Same here. Which is only The Three Stooges Collection, Mary Tyler Moore Show and Cheers. Those are the only DVDs I've bought in the past 2 years.

Everything else: BD. I never watch SD cable anymore (which is a scam because we have to pay for the SD crap in order to get the HD stuff).

I hate when people say, it's not worth it to own on Blu! EVERYTHING deserves to see Blu! And, when people say, BDs are too expensive! You can always find a BD for a good price, you just have to look!

But, to answer your question, No! I only buy BD!

I only buy Blu now. I sold off more that 2,000 of my DVDs early last year, while their value was still up, so I could pick them up on Blu when they become available.
