The only things i don't buy on blu now are tv shows that i have the first seasons of on dvd. Breaking bad is a good example. I got the first season when it came out on dvd. If i get season 2 on blu, im just going to have to double dip, so i'll leave it alone.

I will only buy movies on Blu but for tv shows dvd is my way to go. Most of the TV shows I own or watch are not on blu or only have 1 season on blu. ex.- The Simpsons, Bones, Ghost Hunters, Buffy, Scrubs.

If it is out on BD and I want to buy it, then I will buy the BD. If too expensive, I will sometimes wait. I buy more DVD's then I do BD just because I can find a larger selection of things I am interested in.

I have not bought any TV shows on either DVD or BD as I do not have much of an interest to rewatch them. I do not have cable so I do not know very much about what is one, so I just wait till things get released and will rent and watch them.

Sitcoms?

Like stuff on TV? Like 2 and half men or something?

I don't watch that or buy it.

I used to watch "Cheers" but I was 14 or something at the time.

Had always HEARD it was good. But, alas. I appreciate Gilliam's flavor he brings to a film - Fear and Loathing would not be the same without it - but I thought the story was Gawd awfully weak. Might have been good for it's time (and being 12 years old), but I actually regret the $4-$5 I spent on it and am sad I'll never get that bit of my life back. A true waste of time in my humble opinion. Not sure if I'll inflict it on the Salvation Army, or wait to have a garage sale and sell it for a quarter...

The only thing I will buy on DVD is last years season of house, since it was not released on blu.

Besides that, it is blu or nothing.

I buy more Blu-ray then DVD now of course but it will happen I will buy a DVD.

Just Sunday night I bought from Amazon.ca Farscape complete series for $70...something I have wanted for a while but was very expensive. Most single seasons have been $60 for a long while now.

i will always try to buy blu first and if i think it's something that won't be coming to blu for a long time or ever, then i'll buy the dvd. example, i picked up both seasons 1 & 2 of the HBO show carnaval. it's probably not gonna make it to blu, if so, it will not be for a while. also, they were both only 35 bucks at amazon one day so i snagged them both. other than stuff like that, i stay blu

I am trying my hardest to be exclusive to Blu Ray but so far I am limited to movies in my doing so since none of the Tv shows I want are out on Blu Ray yet and of the ones that are I already own all but 1 of the series I want.

I buy everything on Blu-Ray if possible. I will buy a DVD if it is some catalog title that has zero chance of being on Blu-Ray any time soon. If a new release I want is not available on Blu-Ray I don't buy it.

At first I was going to echo these sentiments...are there any shows on TV actually worth owning?

But then I thought, well, actually I would buy Simpsons 1-9, The complete series of The Office, Seinfeld complete series and the first three seasons of 24.

Unofficial poll results.
~80% will only buy Blu-ray no matter what (and will burn their remaining DVDs as a sacrifice to the Blu-Gods)
~19% will only buy DVDs that are unlikely to ever go Blu or TV sets that the full series will never be all on Blu
~1% will buy DVDs when it makes sense to them to do so on a cost/benefit decision and will continue to purchase and keep DVDs in their collection for quite a few years to come (I always kind of suspected that I was in the minority on this one at least on Blu-ray.com)
