This is great! It comes with a BD and an oldray DVD too!!!!

I would order it, but I checked the web site and I cannot read Dusch. Also, the price is 249 Boka and I have no idea how much that comes to in US dollars. At least it is Engelska (DTS 5.1 Hd Ma).

I wonder is this is region free?

do they have a physical store in sweden or are they online only? i think this is the version i want but i'm hoping i can get some help obtaining it and ensuring it is not dented. the stories from some of these online retailers scares me. i feel i've just been lucky up to this point.

Google translate is your friend

If the price is in Swedish Krona, its $35; Boka translates to English as "Book" or more appropriately "Enter" I would think, as per Google.

I like this Swedish steelbook without the BBFC rating images better than the UK one
Question I have is: how will the Swedish BD handle the Navi spoken bits if you're watching the film without subs enabled (which I always do)?
If the answer is that they'll use the Swedish subtitles during those scenes by default and you can only fix that by manually enabling English subs than that would be pretty annoying IMO
That alone would be reason enough for me to still go for the UK steelbook!
Interested to know how you guys feel about this.

I think the steelbooks will be exactly the same, with maybe a sticker for the front of the UK one with Ratings Logos, as this picture of the Swedish one still has the UK logo on the spine

Yeah I noticed that and hope that'll be the case so I won't have to go through the trouble ordering the Swedish one ( I have the UK one on pre-order)

Seems as a newbie I can't start a new thread : ( A little intro. I'm from Sweden, my name is Linda I'm a lifelong collector of ton of things (sports, miniatures, autographs, you name it), but haven't considered dvd/bluray before. When I by accident bought a District 9 steelbook in january I fell completely in love though!!! Since then I've bought a steelbook Disney treasured Donald duck vol 4 too. But I know absolutely nothing about steelbooks or dvd/bluray releases. I MUST have Avatar, but which one should I pick? Like always, in anything I collect, I want the rarest, simply must have the rarest, so is there a thread here (Sorry if I missed it) or any ohter help where I can find out where to find (in this case pre-order) the rarest? I understand I've missed out on the "glowing t-shirt" edition already : (

Is the Swedish version by any chance rarest? Would be very handy and Discshop is great to buy from. Or is the UK version at play.com better? Or is there an obscure ultrarare version out there? : )

Thanks for all help!
Hugs,
Linda

We usually won't know what is rare until a particular Steelbook is sold out, but here's a hint, if it is on Amazon, it probably is NOT rare.

But since few people on this thread are from Sweden, why don't you start a Buy/Trade Group for Swedish Steelbooks, and you might be able to trade for Limited Edition Steelbooks. I'm sure there are people willing to purchase and trade for Avatar Steelbooks from Sweden.

Is that always true, about Amazon? I mean, the Disney treasure tins sold at Amazon what I understand and they're in demand today.

It's safe to say that Sweden is not going to have any Disney releases anytime soon. And I don't buy Disney Steelbooks so I'm not sure what the availability was on Amazon, but Best Buy did sell out.

The market will be so saturated with Avatar SteelBooks, it wont be worth the metal its printed on until later down the road, possibly. As far as collectibility, Thailand,China,Korea usually have smaller production runs so they would be worth more in my eyes...but once again...too many Avatar releases in too many countries

Disney Treasure Tins are worth more because they have a smaller production run and limited to one country unlike SteelBook.....I have quite a few of them, they are very nice

I can vouch for Discshop.se being on the up-and-up. While I've never ordered a SteelBook from them, I have bought plenty of DVDs and a few Blu-rays from them and have never had a problem. Their customer service are quick to reply to e-mails too.

You never know, Avatar fans are millions and millions so it may be sold out anyway! Of course, I expect those fans to drastically drop in numbers when they watch the dvd/bluray and realise this movie isn't very good at all, lol. So my best move is to wait and see which one turns out to be rarest and grab it on ebay before it turns ultraexpensive? Just read about two different German versions btw.

I guess you gotta ask your definition of "ultraexpensive"?
If you like the German release you might be able to pre-order it for $40 or less, but if it turns out the Thailand steelbook is the one to get, you might have to pay $80-$100 to get it, which paying double, and in my opinion is "ultraexpensive".

I don't have the Ironman Steelbook, but there is no way I'm paying over $100 for it, others would jump on it in a heartbeat if there was a buy-it-now for $100. To each his own I guess.
