Well, the demo is out and I thought we could start up a thread to discuss this game before it releases. Here is some info about the game.

Splinter Cell Conviction takes place two years after Splinter Cell Double Agent. Sam Fisher is now a rogue agent. He has discovered that the death of his daughter, Sarah, was no accident. However, Third Echelon is now in pursuit of Sam. Sam will use several different people for help including former Third Echelon colleague Anna Grimsdóttír, his old Handler, and his old friend Victor Coste. Sam starts by going after his daughter's killer, but he finds himself trying to stop a more serious threat within our nations capital, Washington DC.

If anyone has ever played a splinter cell game then you already know that it is one of the best stealth action games available. Previous Splinter Cell games were pretty straight forward. Hide in the shadows, catch the enemy off guard, disapear back into the shadows. Ubisoft tried to change this formula with Splinter Cell Double Agent. They even went as far as to give you missions in broad daylight. Now they are changing the way the game is played even more. Sam is now faster and more lethal than ever. The biggest changes are mark and execute, and last known position. Mark and Execute allows the player to mark specific targets, such as enemies or objects, and shoot them when they burst through a door or window. This feature works almost flawlessly on the demo. When you drop from the ceiling onto an enemy, and instantly drop three more before they even know you are there, you truly feel like a super spy. the other new feature, last known position, occurs if you break the enemies line of sight. This creates a clear silhouette of Sam where the guard thinks you are. This is great for sneaking out of an area, or getting a flanking postion on your enemies.

If anyone else has any more info on the game feel free to share with everyone. I definitly plan on getting this game. It is planned for release on April 6. The game will be released with a standard and collectors edition, and a limited edition in Europe.

I've always loved this series and still have all of four of the previous releases for the original Xbox. I can't wait for this one to be released. I'm going to download the demo today.

Amazon has a release date for the 13th. I have the CE pre-ordered Never played any of the previous Splinter Cells.

What does the CE offer over the standard version?

I believe the CE is going to come in a Steelbook, but I'm not 100% sure.

Great, so after noobifying the mutiplayer, now they've done the single player, and in the mean time not even having Spies vs. Mercs in this.


Fail. The demo was ok, but did they really have to dumb it down?

I downloaded the demo today, but I didn't have a chance to play it yet. I'll be at the fire station tomorrow so I won't get to play it until Monday. I'll post my thoughts after I play it.

Played the first two missions or intro missions w/e but man the games awesome, I tried to play double agent in preparation for this game and man that was trash! But they really did get this game right its really a ton of fun.

It really is great, they really got back whats been missing in splinter cell games and that is just wanting constantly execute perfect kill strategy I'm at a tough part now moving beams, that if you hit one a turret rips you up and it won't let you kill the turret (I know weird).

But I can't wait to start it over thats how much fun it is, I did it on normal first, but I feel like my technique for killing is so good(and will only get better) that for all but a few parts (I'm not that far into it maybe a little more then half way) it should be quite fun to play on realistic

This is the best splinter cell since the first. I can't wait to play multiplayer(I also have to go pick up my silenced shotgun at gamestop since I reserved it lmao)
