Horror/Serial Killer Icon Seedings Revealed! Pre-Tournament Discussion Thread!!

[CZAR]

On the eve of the "Best Picture" tourney winding down to the final four, I wanted to reveal the seedings and match ups for the next tournament. March Madness actually starts today in college so wanted to give u guys the info and what to look for. This will be the discussion thread. So u guys can talk about the match ups, possible upsets and possible colossal match ups down the road! No voting here. The tourney will start after the other one is done!

The basis of how to make your votes, choose your picks based on the icons of the film and not the film itself. So for example if u prefer one film over the other but think the icon of the inferior film is better then choose based on the icon itself not the goodness of the film. This is focused more toward the character then the movie. Also for the serial killers that are based on actual real killers, please judge based on the character in the film not the actual killer in real life. This is movie based characters only. I will update this thread as new info comes along. Ok well here is the breakdown and your 64 icons that made the field of 64! Links to the polls are below! Got Em!!

I hear that but if u read the opening post this has nuthin to do with the actual killers and what they did in real life. This is all about the films and how big the characters are and were on the big screen! It wouldnt be fair to judge based on real life events as all these characters arent real life or based on real life. Hope that helps. Got Em!!

Haha Im with u there. But I hope u can see where I am comin from as far as the seedings and how to vote based off the film characters only. Anyhoo cant wait to get it started cause there are gonna be some monster match ups! Got Em!!

Good list Czar, except I am surprised by the omission of Herbert West played by Jeffery Combs in the Re-Animator films.

Yea it was tough as only 64 icon's could make the list and choosing between modern horror icon's as well as the classic horror icon's and then adding in the serial killer icon's made it very tough. I also feel it is a very good list! Cant wait to get it started. Should be very interesting! U see any possible upsets or any other interesting things of the regions? Got Em!!

Oh for sure, to try and break down the countless icons in the genre would be a tough job, but I think you covered most.

I dont see Doctor X, Boogeyman, John Kirby, Stepfather, Ben Willis, Rusty Nail, The Prowler, Dr. Caligari or Dr. Giggles getting past round 1.

My predictions would be:
Darkside Region- Jason Voorhees vs Jaws with Leatherface maybe making it in.
Terror Region- Freddy Krueger vs Jack Torrence though Norman Bates might get in there, I would like to see Pinhead and Annie Wilks make it there.
Massacre Region- The match ups in this region should be good. I see it coming down to Michael Myers vs Patrick Bateman or Ash or Predator.
Bloodbath- I see coming down to Alien vs Lector

These peticular icon's I do find very interesting and hard to get a guage on how well they will do: Pamela Voorhees, Regan MacNeil/Devil, John Ryder, & Ghostface! A couple of those could be dark horse's now that I think about it! Got Em!!

The only thing with Regan is, the movie itself (The Exorcist) was much bigger than what her character became as far as popularity! And again this tournament will be judged based on how much u like the character and the greatness the character achieved on and off the big screen and not judging by the greatness of the film itself. So with that being said it could hold her back a bit. But then again who knows. She's still an interesting icon and one of the harder ones to get a guage on as far as predicting how far she could go! Got Em!!

I would just find it funny to have a snowman beat a rubber shark. I got nothing against Jaws or anything, I just think Jack Frost would be funny to move on.

Haha yea I know! I remember reading on this site somewhere that a man went to rent a christmas movie and heard about Jack Frost, but he grabbed the wrong one and when he and his family started to watch it was the horror flick! Hahaha! Got Em!!

John Ryder, The Hitcher is my favorite movie from the 80's.
