So, are you guys bundling your orders to get the free shipping? Do you have to spend more than $50 to get the free shipping? For the April and May pre-orders it's been cheaper for me to keep my Amazon pre-orders (with Prime) than to switch to Criterion... Am I missing something here?

My order will be here today also. They ship from Louisville and I am in Chicago. So quick shipment and also getting them early is also a plus ordering from CC's website. I have some time this weekend, so should get a couple in.

Weird, I'm down here in Peoria, and mine aren't coming till Monday.

Yeah, bundling the month's orders is the way it came out cheaper for me through Criterion than Amazon this time. I had to bundle the three April releases together to get the free shipping, so that means I won't receive the three discs until April 27th, which is when the last blu-ray of the month is released.

For May's releases, I only ordered "Stagecoach" and "By Brahkage," which totaled over $50 after the discount, through Criterion, but kept my Amazon pre-orders for "M" and "Walkabout."

Thanks. Can someone explain to me how this sort of thing comes about? Surely if there is a world-class transfer made, it should be released everywhere?

Would the UK people and Criterion have worked from the same negative and done the transfer to digital from scratch twice? Or is there one raw transfer to digital made by the negative owner, which is then processed to different levels of competence by the two companies releasing it?

I hope it doesn't seem a strange question - just trying to understand the mechanics of such a situation.

I guess I have to buy a cheaper Region A machine to go with my heavy-duty Region B one. How many members are there here who have two machines for this reason?

I have a Region A Playstation 3 since I'm in the USA, but I also have a region-free Momistu blu-ray player to play Region B & C blu-rays and PAL content of standard DVDs.

I'll leave the rest of your post for pro-b to answer, so hopefully he'll see it.

Unless, it's something being shipped to me from Jon Mulvaney(since he's in the New York offices), any type of order I've ever received from Criterion has shipped from Kentucky. I'm pretty sure that's where their main east coast distribution center is located. I'm not sure if they have a west coast distribution center or not, though.

I also get shipments from Amazon from Louisville too. It might be some distributors hub.

A job at the distribution center? I'm sure that's not too much more exciting than stuffing envelopes for Netflix.

I sure wouldn't mind having some type of job at the New York offices, but I'm sure they'd have security tackle me before I made it up to the appropriate floor.

I just thought since I lived close by I could tell myself I somehow work for Criterion.

It should be in a clear plastic case... shorter than a DVD case.

I see. I was confused when people were discussing release dates... obviously this month has all 4 being released the same day, so it's pretty easy to get over $50 with that!

Thanks for clarifying! I'm still undecided about April's releases... definitely going for Vivre sa Vie; but, I don't know much about the other two releases.

Not a blu one, right? He says it looks a bit taller then a regular blu-ray.

No, Criterion uses custom-made clear plastic cases for their blu-ray releases. It's the same height as a standard blue-colored blu-ray case, but it's thicker like a PS3 game case.

He's gonna take a pic of it next to a regular blu-ray tonight. Hopefully he's just high or something
