Im going with the Best Buy steel book as well. I have the extended edition already so I have no intention of double dipping. Of all the added scenes the only ones I will really miss r the houses of healing scenes from RotK. I cant fathom why the were ever cut from the theatrical version leaving Faramir and Eowyn inexplicably together at the crowning.

The real shame is die hard fans of LotR and of Blu-ray r being forced to wait in an effort to milk more dollars out of an already successful franchise When will the people who make the big pictures start looking at the big picture?

yeah, a few of my posts were deleted... nothing important tho... definitely not as important as removing that completely unnecessary discussion that was going on... now we can get back to what matters... April 6th... 18 days away... just a little over 2 weeks... oh yeah... STOKED... I've been wanting to watch LotR SOOOOOOOO bad since last year when I heard they were being released in November... then they got pushed back... and I still decided to wait... and its been AWEFUL!!!

I haven't seen them since I saw them on DVD in early 2008, tried watching them on TV once but the commercials got to me. Cannot wait for this blu release, probably my most anticipated blu release ever!

Yup, guess Grubert just did a mass thread prune, oh well. I do hope LoTR sells well, would help blu-ray reach a lot more people than it has already.

Review copies came in today. I haven't got to look at any of them yet but I will say that some may be disappointed with the packaging. The films don't come in their own cases. Rather there are two cases, one that holds 6 discs (each film and the disc for its extras) and the other holds all the digital copies. I thought each film would have its own case within the slip case.

Also, all the soundtracks are 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, just to confirm.
