okay so I am a new owner (2 days) and I thought as long as you have a Netflix account you can stream. How does the membership come into play? (I REALLY am a newbie so I still have to figure out how to even set this up. hope that helps. you will need a router, a long cat 5(6) cable, or you can use the network bridge feature on you laptop (assuming mac can do it). i have done all 3. i preferred to have it wired to prevent dropped connections. i have not had streaming issues & i use an older g-router.
