HD-DVD wont die for at least another two years. The format war will be over a lot sooner but don't expect Toshiba to stop mass producing HD-DVD players for a long time to come.

do you really mean to tell me that if Warner switch to BD exclusive you don't think Universal or Weinstein will atleast go neutral coming to a conclusion that the studio's have the say, if Universal goes neutral, or BD exclusive after warner, do you honestly think HD-DVD will last long? Paramount/Dreamworks would then be the last major studio releasing movies for HD-DVD.

Just having Warner switch will be a sever blow the HD-DVD but the studio's know just as we do that this format war doesn't do them any favors nor is it good for us.

hay hay! your a fiesty one!

No i was not saying that Uni or Weinstein would not go neutral, all i meant is that Toshiba are gonna play this out for a long time. As long as there are Studios releasing on their format they will continue to mass produce their products (as stupid as it would be).

The format war will be over soon but HD-DVD will not be dead for a while.

Low unprofitable prices, huge giveaways (like free Heroes, 2 box sets, Kong, 5 mailed movies included with 360 addon), and the $150 million payoff/life-support to get Paramount/Dreamworks exclusive.
