cant mount projector in room had a couple of companies come out when i was looking for a video solution 8 years ago they said because of lathe plaster and size of room the projector would be waste of money i wish i could but projectors are out of luck with me plus i think the 3d projectors are gonna be 7-10k from what ive read would take another 10 yrs to save that much and by then my tv would be dead (me too maybe lol)

Check amazon. It's not 1080p 3D, but it'll work

I saved for 3 years before i bought my TV
i have been saving for 8 1/2 yrs for this new tv ( i generally start saving again after i buy new stuff ) i appreciate all your advice and wont make any rash decisions (i bought my last tv 1080i pannyrear proj before anything really was hd ) so i do my research but wanted to see what the folks on here thought. i wont bother with questions about it again till closer to the fall when the brands are all out competing and being rated .

A particular example is the 3D LG projector shown at CES, some reviews of the show/product said it used polarized glasses others shutter. I still don't know what it is they use because any one of them could be wrong and I don't know anyone who's judgment I trust to tell me what they actualy saw (used).
the LG 3D projector is a polarized machine that uses passive circular-polarized eyewear. it is SXRD and uses a dual light engine... basically internally it's two projectors in one box... one for each eye, and both eyes are combined via a single lens output.

Note: polarized projection requires a special silver screen to keep the light polarized. Stay tuned later this year to see if some new screen options come out that work well with both 3D and 2D sources, and there may be active-shutter projectors as well. DLP in particular, will be well suited to active-shutter since it has instant on/off performance.

Do a little research on Vizios "business practices".

A warranty is only good if the company is still in business.

I'm guessing Bill is working on it now.

Vizio has definately been one of the more proactive of the Chinese OEM front companies, they actually pay their royalities unlike Apex or Cyberhome did. But just remember how fast those brands, that sold just as well, flushed when the time came. If Vizio gets into trouble, I expect them to vanish just as quickly

Jeff, what's the word in the biz about the quality of the LoTR transfer? Inquiring minds want to know.

Can we look forward to every film getting re-released in 3D now?

There is now talk of 300 getting a 3D re-release.

I really gotta wonder if Titanic would benefit from a 3D re-release. It might just be able to reclaim its top spot for worldwide gross.

I am wondering if 3D will be old before it even gets started.

Jeff,

My Toy Story blurays arrived via UPS and all they did was make me hungrier for my all time favorite pixar flick, The Incredibles.

Is there any chance that flick will come to blu in the not so distant future? I know it will come eventually, but give me hope that The Incredibles isnt too far off.

Everyday I have to reload the page over and over, because I'm always hit with the "Firefox can't find the server" instead.

Doesn't work for me either. Probably some kind of DNS issue.
