Wink New Rumors Dept.

New Rumors Dept.

* PIP has no room to run on HD DVD
* "Region A" Transfomers is coming out in 3D on blu-ray in Korea.
* HD DVD allows copying to digital VHS.
* Paramount will change their name to Para-studios so new releases can be sold on BD.
* Toshiba will sue Paramount for breach of contract.
* Warner will give a crap about PQ and lossless audio.
* Michael Jackson will admit he is now a woman.

Add to the list guys, it's "Open Season" around here. The self FUD of our own members is getting so thick you can spread it with a HD DVD disc and call it "The Red Spread".

well like I said before..YOU might not think its worth your time, but I don't even get that argument. start the download..walk away..how does that affect you?

you can usually get these movies in a day or 2 on something as lame as road runner. ever see the download/upload speeds of fiber optic users?

but it being cracked means nothing. and if fox was waiting around for something unhackable..then I guess we can expect to never see another title from them

sorry, but im just not seeing the FUD. yes, people have heard rumors, magazines have written stories, but none of it is stemming from Fear, Uncertainity or Doubt, its more likely stemming from hope that this stupid war is finally coming to an end, based on some very real comments made by studios. and ive yet to see anybody on this site just post blatent lies like people do on hdd, avsforum, or eproductwars in the hopes that some unsuspecting consumer will read them, believe them, and side with hd dvd.

Rumors and articles can be generate uncertainty and doubt. I understand these are just opinions, I post plenty of my own. But I think I reached a mental saturation point where I am tired of all this speculation and no real evidence of anything coming to fruition.

* The cheap HD-DVD player can indeed play 1080p, but only through composite connections
* Transformers sold 1 Billion copies on HD-DVD (yes, we did make that many)
* More covers look good in RED anyway

What good is 720p, even on DVD9? Like to know what kind of bit rate you get with that setup.
The online piracy scene is far more about the bragging rights for having it "first" than quality. IF they wanted quality, they would buy it in the first place.

The key to copy protection is to make it as big of a pain in the ass as long as possible. If they can keep a title off the net for a month, that's a victory because typically you'll do 50% of a major title's overall sales in that period

I like monkeys. I think they'd be great leaders.

Lets even point out the glaringly obvious. If cracked, is it perma-broke like AACS? That's the beauty of open ended specs at this point. If firmware can fix 'holes' in a protection scheme, sly soft has a very lengthy uphill battle.
No BD+ is 100% changeable, and you can't bypass it because it contains the needed third part of the decryption sequence
