Default Playstation 3 40GB Spider-Man Movie Pack

Has anyone seen the new Playstation 3 40GB Spider-Man Movie Pack? It's selling for $400 on Amazon. But you do need to buy the HMDI cable for it. This sounds like a good deal to me. I haven't bought an blu-ray player yet, will this be a good one to get? Can you stop the film and return to it, unlike some other blu-ray players.

yes you do need to buy an hdmi cable for it. I haven't had any luck stopping a movie and then being able to return to where I left off.

I have heard it uses the new cell chip (65nm) so it will run cooler. If you don't mind not being able to play old ps and ps2 games the ps3 is by far the best blue ray player out there

You can play PS1 games. Just not PS2 games.

It will start where it left off as long as you don't turn of the ps3, or take the disc out

Yup is true, i also got the 60 and it will as long as you start it up just for the movie. You also have to have start the disc up right away instead of the XMB.

I already have a 60GB PS3, but my parents are interested in this new model. Does the 40GB still have the memory card slots on the front? My mom loves being able to just watch pics on the TV right off the card. They never play games, so they could care less about the backwards compatibility. I think Sony is right on track with this release. It will appeal to a lot of non-gamers.

In regards to the stopping & starting of movies,
I'm a big fan of it.

In the middle of a movie my wife sometimes has to go to the bathroom.
I can pause the movie, go to the main xml and play games off my hdd (Super Stardust for example).

Then when she returns, I just go back to the movie, and it resumes where it left off. Pretty cool stuff.

You want to buy your HDMI cables here if you're looking for a 10ft cable.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

$5.24 each or $4.91 each if you're buying between 2-5 of them.

Excellent service, very quick and great quality cables that perform as well as $400 HDMI "Ultra" cables.
