United Kingdom UK Discs With No English Subs

This really annoys me. Not for myself, as English is my first language, but my wife is Korean, and misses out on a lot of dialogue. Most of the major studios are OK but some companies, particulary Optimum, have a habit of practically never including an English Sub option. Bad enough on standard DVDs, but with a high capacity format like Bluray there is absolutely no excuse. Not too much to expect when you're paying more money for their product I think...

OK, rant over

LionsGate in the UK is one of the major offenders.

Even those of us with good hearing appreciate subs...there are always scenes with really low or fast dialogue where the odd word can be missed.

The Australian version of The Hitcher (2007) has no subtitles WHATSOEVER. That's a basic feature. Even videos had them!

Yeah, forgot about Lionsgate. I mainly mentioned Optimum as I own more discs from them.

Pretty sure Optimum still advertise 'Scene Access' and 'Interactive Menus' as a Special Feature on some of their releases too!
