Same here.

Unfortunately, if any network would consider doing this they'd probably assign their local "weatherperson" for the task.

That's a good point. It would have to be someone with audio/video knowledge. I could just see the Bose company grabbing all the commercial spots.

Revision3.com/HDNation , its a half hour video podcast, pretty much exactly what you were describing. It's pretty awesome, I watch it every week. Download it and you can watch it on your ps3 every Saturday like you wanted.

I think it would have to come from the HGTV network where a foundation is already laid for home programming. They could have different segments like buying advice and reviews, theater/media room construction, and finished home theaters showcased.

I know I'd watch!

Check out HD Nation on Revision 3. Patrick is good and Robert Heron definitely knows his stuff. It's available on the web (of course), I watch it on my TiVo, and I think it's available through a Roku box. Not sure if there are other ways to watch it on a TV.

I caught a show on HDTV called "Bang For your Buck" where they look at 3 houses where people did upgrades (sometimes a 35k bathroom remodel, or 60k kitchen etc) and one of them was about 3 homes where they did $100k basement remodels.... (one had a sweet Irish bar setup I believe) either way, one of the homeowners added a theater area (which is pretty universally seen as a poor investment) and they had the projector, 120" screen, and they used bose satellite speakers throughout (obviously their $100k was spent elsewhere, like adding a bathroom/bedroom etc. but this was just a small part of it)

I would certainly like to see a HT design company do their own 'reality' type of T.V. show..... or even a DIY network type of thing, like "Man Caves" currently is.... but focus more on the acoustics and actual gear being used.

I think they could pull the show off. I think a lot companies would like the free advertisement. By putting there products in a home and seeing a happy customer on TV. That would look good to a New Customer.

I'd definitely sit down and watch a show like this if it were on. DIY Network and HGTV seem to be the likely channels that would air such a show. Hell, it could be one of their late night shows or something.

Nice! Well this is another thing my TiVo does that the cable provider's box won't, I subscribed to HDNation and Tekzilla so they'll be waiting for me from now on, just like every TV show I watch (I haven't watched LIVE TV in years!)

I watch a lot of DIY and HGTV and they both have shows that occasionally feature a home theater or media room. Their websites have tons of links to them. Some are pretty good and some are pretty worthless for what most here would be interested in.

If you ever watch MTV Cribs, what are the three things they focus on: Cars, Kitchen/Bathroom, and the Theater Room. Obviously HT is something that 18-45 year old males are interested in and if they can convince their wives to dump a little money into something more than a flat screen on the wall and a cheap HTiB, this is the target market that producers should be shooting for. There's plenty of shows on saturday and sunday morning about muscle cars and upgrading your trucks, there should be a show about HT. I would think a HT magazine company would sponser a show in a similar format where they could talk about everything from budget systems to freakish high end gear. They could talk about speaker placement, screen size, seating, lighting. Look at the endless websites and forums and the countless pages, obviously there is more than enough information and topics to get a few seasons worth of shows... and as time goes on they could add the new technologies.

Once in a while a channel like G4TV or HDNet will run shows on CES and one of them did have a show similar to how CNet.com reviews equipment but it didnt last long. A more prominent channel like Spike or HGTV would have to do something similar and actually market the show. I would definately watch.
