Pretty sure they still are. They knew the PQ wasn't perfect but they seem to not care.

I was one of those people, and now I'm not buying. The only way I'll buy now is a considerable price drop or an announcement of an exchange program.

In light of the less than stellar PQ, will you be postponing your LOTR purchase in hopes of an improved BD?

Well, it turns out they're getting the EE with this release - Edge Enhancement.

I was never planning on buying this release since I am waiting for the EEs, but had I been planning on buying this there is NO WAY I would purchase this set at this point. This type of effort should not be rewarded IMO. This is LotR.....the biggest release in the formats history and they do this??? Not to mention that the street price will be ~$60-$70 average which is far from cheap for a half assed effort

I know my brother never was planning on getting these, since he is just interested in the EE. I made him read the reviews and he was shock. He expected WB to have better respect for LOTR. It's like I said before a few pages back, studios might be getting a little lazy with catalogue releases. I think they have this feeling most people will buy them anyway. I wasn't interested in getting them but it's truly disapointing that they made such a bad job of it.

I'm doing a flip-flop on this boxed set and cancelling my preorder. I'd say with multiple reviews up now say this isn't anything more than a good not great release, there's no reason to pay 70 bucks. I'll wait till the price goes down.

I don't think it's a bad choice, cause they would still be better then the DVD. I personaly find that the DVD set does not upscale well even if many others have said they find it great. They just seem sort of foggy to me for some reason.

From the review, it sounds that they didn't even make a decent effort on the video quality of the TE.

Certainly hope it bites them in the wallet, 'cause they certainly do not deserve my hard-earned dollars on this one.
