Hahaha.

I have no idea what you're talking about Alf.

I haven't said anything that all the reviews coming out now aren't saying. Turns out I wasn't so wrong after all, huh.

All I've done is talk about the PQ of this release.

Sorry if that offends you somehow.

Everyone focuses on 'the horror' that is FotR, while if you look at Ken's review, he gave the second two both 4/5 (and most of the reviews have been positive, though not glowing, towards the second two, particularly RotK). That is a very good/respectable score.

And to some who don't scrutinize the PQ as heavily when watching a movie or aren't as sensitive to the flaws that they may have, they will look better than a 2.5/4/4 to them.

And then there are the people who just want anything better than the DVDs, they will be quite pleased with these.

If someone really must see this in Blu Ray right now, there's always the rental option. That should hold most people over til the extended versions come out.

I was still sure of buying them even after the review were coming out.
But I'm having doubts now, this last move from WB about the screenshots is pretty disgusting, maybe I can stick with my EE dvd's a while longer.

Rental is an option but one as to remember the fan side of things.

Look at me for an example, with Star Wars. I watch these movies close to 10 times a year, so renting them every time would become costly. A lot of fans feel the same with LOTR and they truly love the movies and are not overly concern with the PQ. It would still be superior to the DVD set and if you watch these movies 5+ times a year buying them is still better then renting them every time you wish to see them.I think that the one bad thing about Blu-ray is that is make's people focus too much on PQ & AQ. There is also the movies to think about and if you are a big fan of one movie you may not always be as concern about PQ & AQ, you just wish to enjoy the movie. Everyone is different, I know that many here will argue that a bad PQ turn's them off but not everyone is the same way.

Um, I think the most obvious way to send a message is to not buy the set.

I will still be buying these even with the reviews. Of course it helps that I have $35 rewards zone from best buy. (which has lowered the price to $62 by the way.)

Has anyone else noticed that item description at bestbuy.com calls it blur ray?

The majority of the sales is going to come from people who don't visit forums or care about PQ like we do.

I dont think that would work either unless it was some world wide boycott. The vast majority of people who are going to buy the set probably have never seen this site or others who review blu's.

Sure, its a great idea..in theory.

To me its like if gas goes over $4/gallon. "Lets not buy the gas" from say..BP for a week and see how that hits them. In theory that is great but good luck making it work nationwide.

I think flooding WB with letters stating your displeasure (in a nice way) would go farther then just saying "lets not buy it". Give them a reason in written word why you are not going to buy it.
