What I want to do is transfer videos from tv recordings (from a PVR) to view back on my PS3.

So for instance, I have a 608 x 336 video file that I want to convert to a PS3 compatible file; mpeg4 and same resolution.

My plan is to create a series of videos stored on my PS3 (come March) and watch them direct from there, rather than have to create DVD's on my PC.

From my research, PVRs can record in MPEG-2 PS format, which is one of the formats natively supported by the PS3.

Only MPEG-2 TS has to be remuxed - as in seperate the video and the AC3 audio (if it's in 5.1) and the mux them together as MPEG-2 PS.
