i traded in my ht sr800 for the TX sr600
but so far i am not impress with the quality i'm getting. So far i think i set up the distance and power for each speaker okay. I'm running thru HDMI (PCM Multichannel Dirrect) I heard about the feature of Dolby TrueHD but i don't know how to turn it on or is it even already on. Does anyone in thsi forum own the TX sr605 and can help me get the best out of this receiver? what type of speakers should i use and what type of sub, Right now i am using 8ohm Bose for center and 4ohm PCM for left and right. The surround speakers are yamaha Thanks you much Kenny |

what you need to do is get a new set of speakers.
anyways, set the ps3 to linear pcm if you wish to listen in dolby trueHD. If not, you can set it to bitstream. Then if you change your mind during a movie, you can hit the triangle button and go to the A/V Settings icon. This allows you to switch back and forth from LPCM and Bitstream on the fly. |

..actually its 110. Anyways, you are better off with the Onkyo TX-SR605...you just may need to tweak your set-up to sound right. Also, just to let you know...this straight from the 605 user manual (pg.20): Read the following before connecting your speakers: • North American models: Only connect speakers with an impedance of 6 ohms or higher. If you use speakers with a lower impedance, and use the amplifier at high volume levels for a long period of time, the built-in protection circuit may be activated. |
