Wait so now there's vertical white and purple lines in the transfer?!?!?!?!?

Can we get more people that have the movie confirm this to be a widespread problem or limited.

Why do you feel so threatened?

I mean, you've exhibited the need to dispute every single post in this thread by every person that you disagree with, so, obviously you feel threatened.

I've detected a problem with the LotR blu-ray:

there are 1920 microscopic vertical lines through the whole presentation. If I sit 10" away, they are noticeable. I spent thousands of dollars on my HT setup, this is unacceptable. What an awful transfer.

Yep, once for 2 seconds, once for about 20 seconds and once more for just under a minute.
If you are watching on a television with over scan, you won't see it. But otherwise, you will.

Finished the movie.

I thought the movie looked fine

Yes the lines were annoying for however brief a time they were there (which no matter how brief, its inexcusable that they didn't catch that), and then there was the DNR and other such detriments (which as I said, I'm not very sensitive to, so I picked up on it MUCH less than someone like Ken would). But there was also scenes like the Moria sequence and the final part of the movie where they fight the Uruk-hai (spelling?) that looked great. And then there is the rest of the film which didn't look as good as those two, but also didn't look as bad as parts like in Bilbo's house.

My opinion on the PQ is a 4/5.

Well, my score is actually about a 3.75/5, but I only score in .5 intervals, so I just rounded up.

The AQ was very good. The Nazgul screeches =

Excellent, good to hear you enjoyed it.

I think many people who are not sensitive to DNR will.

Those vertical lines left me scratching my head.

I agree, those of us who don't have eyes of a hawk will range from pleased to accepting of the transfer (I personally was pleased). The good definitely outweighed the bad imo.

The lines did baffle me though

A little later I'm going to throw in TTT and RotK for some select scenes like I mentioned earlier.

Doesn't sound too bad, then. Now I have to wait for mine to arrive. Latest location: Spokane, WA. I'm not sure if it will make it to my house tomorrow.

Something I forgot to mention that I noticed for the first time tonight when watching the blu.

When Gandalf and Saruman are talking by the palantir....Christopher Lee's dialog doesn't even come close to matching up with what he was really saying when they filmed that scene.

Notice that one of his powers as a wizard is the ability to deceive with his voice; he could have just been freaking us out.
