Oh I know, but I'm sick of the excuses from Warner and some of the board members, Warner should just be honest and say we rushed it to get it out, so
that we could grab some cash.

All my bi**hing aside, I still bought them.

LOL they are good especially TT and ROTK, they look great. But you know how studio's operate. Just look a James Cameron, He's gonna milk the hell out of AVATAR, buy the end of the year there will be about 7 different editions LOL.

Wouldn't three movies count as three?

I believe that the movie collection system uses Amazon's database. Amazon "sees" the set as one item.

They've actually postponed the release before, so i'm not sure how you think they "rushed" it to make more money. How would releasing it on april 6th make them more money than say, releasing it on thanksgiving? WB knows that this is gonna make money regardless of when they put it out.

I'm still unsure as to what the naysayers are complaining about. If studio "balldropping" was involved during the transfer, then why does TTT and ROTK look so good.

Which would be:

The Incredible Hulk
Terminator Salvation (It's a close one between these two, as both tracks are insane)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The Dark Knight
The Fast and the Furious

The 5th may rotate occasionally, but the Top 4 don't change.

But that doesn't mean the audio isn't a 5/5 (because it is), as a good bit of the movies in my collection are demo worthy for audio so its tough to make it into that Top 5.
Top 10 sounds good to me, thanks Great list..........Salvation is also in my top 5.........amazing track!

For the people that say they don't like the picture quality, why don't you post pictures and the minute/second of the scene where there is proof that it is in fact bad. Anyway can say "that sucks", but that adds nothing to the discussion. Prove it. I personally don't think the shire looks that bad at all, the only thing that really bothered me about it was trying to figure out if Bilbo had a orange/or red sweater on.

Also, much of the moving is a transition with scenes with a lot of special effects in terms of CGI usage, there are a lot of shots where the camera is very far away, like in the FOTR when they are on the mountain, whether or not those are real or just CGI, I'm not sure, but I'm just not seeing these same faults.

I wouldn't say TTT and ROTK look so good, I'd say TTT is passable and ROTK
is good, and a delay of 5 or 6 months did not give them enough time to make
the transfer better. I would of gladly waited till Thanksgiving if they were going to actually do some work towards making the pq better.

How should we even know that FOTR can look better it was always the soft one even on the DVD's and i am NOT talking about the EE DVD. And it was the cheap one they didn't do so much on in post production because they didn't know how huge these was gonna be

I say the naysayers are fishing. And FOTR is definitely not the worst blu ray out there it is far from it. And the other are right up there with 4/5 PQ blu rays. So what the hell is there to complain about

I just finished FOTR and would put it at 3 out of 5. It is an odd transfer because many of the scenes look great and it also has several scenes that are surprisingly bad, as many before me have already said. So I guess it is a little disappointing if just because the inconsistancy of the image is distracting at times.

I greatly enjoyed watching it tonight though, as I am one of the fans who have held off watching it for a couple of years waiting for the blu-ray. I don't regret the purchase in the least. Looking forward to watching the next two over the weekend!

I recently finished re-watching all lotr theatrical versions. I found ROTK the best, maybe because of epic scenes like rohirrim charge on mordor army. For the other two, i prefer the extended editions.

Does anybody know the movies' size on disc? It hasn't been posted in the bitrates thread. I'd like to know. Did they barely fit and/or will they be able to put the EE's, including ROTK, on one disc?

Someone posted them but I don't remember what page.

They were all about 39GB-41GB...

Return of the King was actually the smallest file...

I think it was the smallest because it didn't have the trailers and other junk.
