They already remade Evil Dead also, as Evil Dead II.

My biggest problem with remakes is that most of the time they end up falling short of its predecessors.

Tru however there are some very good remakes out there such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, & The Hills Have Eyes just to name a couple. I think that again if in the right hands some of these can turn out really good. But Im sure a few of these will also turn out bad. Just how it is. Got Em!!

Agreed. And I think this is because even though they throw out words like "reimagining", "reinvention", etc. the bottom line is the studios and producers just want to utilize something, anything, that has a name that they can sell. Because it's much easier for them to continue to churn anything with a brand name than to build a new property from scratch.

But, I remain hopeful that if they must remake these films, at least a handful may turn out to be at least watchable. I'm not anti-remake as without remakes, we wouldn't have "The Thing" for instance.

Having said that, I think anyone that tries to remake Suspiria is an idiot.

The only good thing I think will come of that is we may finally get a proper transfer for Evil Dead II.

LOL.

I can understand a remake if the original was a good idea, but poorly executed. But some of these films were excellent and trying to "improve" them with CGI is weak sauce all the way.

The Birds needs a remake... and so does the Blob, last i heard Rob Zombie wants to remake it which I am iffy about after he destroyed Halloween 1 and 2.... also i hope they dont ruin Jaws and Childs play with horrible CGI and this 3D nonsense that needs to go away

Yea I was thinkin the samething about that one. Hollywood doesnt have enough balls to still make these kind of horror films. I mean occasionally we still get some real graphic ones but nuthin like back in the 70's and 80's! I just hope they go all out and make it like its supposed to be! Got Em!!

Thank you about the Birds. As for the Blob I could see that as well, however if Zombie touches it I will probably stay away from it. Everything he touches turn to poop! As for Jaws, u are right if the CGI is horrible that would mess it up but if the CGI is great then im sure it will turn out great! I am not sure about Tracy Morgan as the lead as he is a funny guy and all but I want this movie to be taken seriously. Got Em!!
