Would I be considered a non-Gladiator fan if I didn't buy the first release of it's Blu-Ray? How about a non-fan of the Fifth Element if I didn't buy the shoddy first release?

I camped out on the concrete overnight to buy tickets to the LOTR 24 marathon at my local theatre in 2003.. so... yeah.

i did buy the original gladiator because it was a great film. And i kept it until i heard they were remastering it, thats the only reason why i sold it.

same here. There are few films that are epic (LOTR/ Star Wars/Indie films). When these are release on blu, you just gotta have it if you are a BIG fan. Or just continue to watch it on subpar DVD

Well... I guess I am ALMOST a true LOTR fan but I don't meet all the prereqs

Like I said before and Ken repeated, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am NOT going to try to convince you that FOTR has a shoddy video transfer but please do not try to convince me it isn't

how am i? i just stated the fact that i still bought Gladiator after its PQ review because i loved the movie, Im not trying to change your opinion bro. Thats not me at all.

hey how about the Helms deep horn. Me and my wife both looked at each other like what the hell. That shit was definitely hi def, blu ray, lossless perfection. We turned at each other like

I know what you mean. For me, once I've seen the movie on Blu-Ray, then it's hard to go back. But if the Blu-Ray doesn't meet my expectations (in this case, I'm waiting for the Extended Editions),then for me it's a waste of money to buy the Blu-Ray right now. So until then, my DVDs are just fine.

Yea im with ya. I want to buy the Mission Impossible trilogy, but I wont until they get lossless audio. Which in my opinion is a minimum for Blu.

How can you be fine watching the DVD's for LOTR when the DVD's are HORRIBLE compared to the blu rays?
