Default Spidey 4 gets a new writer

Found out on IGN.com that Spiderman 4 is going to be written by James Vanderbilt. The guy who wrote Zodiac, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine movies. Still no word if the cast is returning. I wonder what the script will be.

I wonder who the villain will be....

I hope it's Carnage, here's the bio:
-Carnage is the combination of a symbiote spawned from the original Venom symbiote and the serial killer and former cell mate of Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady. He thrives on murder and chaos and is many times stronger than Spiderman. To stop him the first few times, Spider-Man had to resort to calling on Venom for assistance.

I think this could be very very cool...Make it all action, dark, and more adult oriented....no damned Emo Peter lol

I hope this movie has dark tone. The 3rd one was suppose to be like that, but I really didn't see that. Still had a comedy feel to it. If anybody can do it this guy can.

I read that the Lizard might make an appearance in this movie.

I hope it doesn't. I mean...it's Spiderman for God's sake.

Its probably going to take him awhile to catch up on all the comics. Especially after he just got threw with Wolverine. Unless he knows Spidey frontwards and backwards.

What I ment about 3 was I thought I remembered reading that Peter was turning bad. Not being bad and hitting on the ladies and dancing . Venom was going to be in the movie quite a bit creating havoc. Instead of being in a couple of scenes with his mask off all the time. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I didn't like the movie. The second time around. After I it on BR I realized it wasn't that bad. Except for those parts.

I don't mind the comedy aspect because Spiderman was always a wisecracker. Only, the humor came from Peter/SPidey always being the victimized underdog sap. He needs a new attitude. Sharp one liners that make people cheer him for the cutting verbal jabs, and not just his left hook.

I watched Spidey 3 tonight fully expecting to feel ho hum about it. But I commited to the whole movie to see it in HD. Geeze, what a piece of trash. And I say this as a BIG Spiderman fan since I was a kid. He spends less time in costume than he did in the first movie. They need to cut at least 20 minutes of BS and it would be a lot better.

Even when he was in costume or anybody for that matter they could never keep there mask on. I wanted to see spidey not Peter. I hope this new writer can fix that.

Good I'm glad there's a new director. Maybe this time he'll listen to what people want: Venom.

All though that Carnage guy sounds really cool. I think I may really like this new movie.

I agree with that. I think I would like to see this movie have mix and feel of Spawn (the cartoon version), Sin City, and Batman Begins...Don't just leave in some sappy story (that gets old), make the movie move fast (kind of like how Die Hard 4 just kept moving and didn't stop). And make SPIDERMAN the focus of the movie, not Peter Parker.

Do this and you studio producers....WILL BE RICH

I also believe this is doable in a PG-13 rating with borderline R qualities.

I'm really glad it will have a new writer.... I liked the Spiderman movies, but they were getting a little bit too heavy on the feelings and emotion. Time for a change I think, sounds good.

Lizard man is already in Spiderman 2 and 3, he just hasn't turned into the lizard man yet. Note Peter Parker's class professor: one armed man.

As long as Topher Grace is out as Venom. Seriously miscast...Great actor, just not for that role.

I think Topher was considered for the role of Spiderman for a while. If Tobey didn't exist, I would have said "Excellent choice." Probably selected because they liked him and he made a nice contrast to Parker.

Two nerds, one who still feels like a geek though he is a superhero, and the other with just a superego. Still, if not Topher, then who? Topher is a great comic actor and did a great job in "That 70's show". I think seeing him in a serious role was just hard to accept.
