This is definitely a first day purchase for me as well. The film did fairly well but I would have expected that word-of-mouth would have elevated its box office a bit higher. It's a terrific film—don't pass on this one if you haven't seen it. A definite "blind buy."

Cool, really enjoyed this film.
Too bad they didn't end up using 65mm much, would've made for a really nice blu-ray. Apparently they were going to do the flashback scenes in that format but the camera they had broke down so only one 65mm shot made it into the final movie

Unfortunately, i was disappointed with the film. I called the ending when i first saw the trailer, but i was REALLY hoping i wasn't right... but i was haha. I didn't like the twist at all; i wish it was just

Day 1 for me. I'm amazed people complain about knowing the ending from the beginning. To me, although I had an idea of what the ending was right away, there was so much other stuff in the film (editing, directing, acting, music, set design, story...) that I enjoyed the film anyway.

Agreed. Movie was an amazing tribute to film noir. People who get hung up on nitpicky stuff aren't seeing the forest for the trees.

Agreed. Yeah you could figure out at least part of the "twist" early on. But I still felt like it was "Scorsese does Hitchcock" which was just fine with me. Plus seeing a second time is a revelation, spotting clues etc.
