So if you cheated the brain into thinking it sees depth on a flat surface wouldn't it just be thinking that it is see what is normal in the world?
Or maybe since it knows that it is a flat surface it can't accept the fact that it is seeing depth even though that is what is perceived. Oh the conflict, our poor brains, maybe we can use this as an excuse to commit crimes.
