good "news" for bluray.....although it is really only speculative opinion at the momment.
I also speculate, however, that such bundles are likely to occur |

Free (or discounted) Blu-Ray player with purchase of HDTV? That would be the best think they could do. Get everyone purchasing an HDTV ready to go.

That would be AMAZING if Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, Pioneer and the rest would offer Blu players with the purchase of an HDTV. It doesnt even have to be free they could sell it for the now famous $98.00 that toshiba is selling they're inferior 1080i machines but instead you get a real machine that plays 1080p

And whoever has the Sony credit card can get a free PS3 if they redeem points to get one of those HDNA TVs. Now who are spare 300000 points to me...

Slightly OT here, but generally along the same Christmas blitz lines:
Comon BDA! Here's an advertising idea for you: (HD format advertisement; this won't work in SD) Open with 5 second shot of 2 year old prying open a blu-ray disk case. cut to 5 sec shot of same child with disk clutched in dirty hand while playing. cut to 5 sec shot of same child banging disk on coffee table as part of play, perhaps holding it up to the light as curious 2yr olds will do to catch the refractions cut to the same child now going to mom with disk "Play <insert Disney title here> please?" he/she says. Mom, with panicked look on face, wipes disk off, pops it into a blu-ray player. It works perfectly showing the jaw dropping clarity of HD reflected by the child's wide eyed delight". Relief spreads across mom's face. Announcer overlay as shot widens to show mother watching too with the now slightly mangled case in hand: "Blu-ray HD disks feature a scratch resistant coating so that Disney's magic will never fade". (or pick a better punch line than this. Something that a real writer could dream up...) Last edited by Sleuth255; 11-03-2007 at 12:17 AM. |
