Default Two Versions of "Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock?"

Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock Blu-ray

Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock Blu-ray Review

2008 Version: http://www.amazon.com/Live-Woodstock.../dp/B001CJJWVG
2010 Version: http://www.amazon.com/Live-Woodstock...2066394&sr=1-4
The 2008 one doesn't have a good product description, so I am not sure. Are these two products different?
I was just ready to buy this, and I see there is 2 versions? And a tiny bit different in price...

its probably something simple like a change in sku # or upc. the release dates are different. the older one would probably eventually be out of stock/discountinued. ive seen something similar for omega man

Different prices, and the old one is still in stock.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the 2010 release has a Blu-ray & DVD copy. The 2008 release only has the Blu-ray.

This is totally strange. I'd like to know a real answer.
I just bought the 2010 version at Barnes N' Noble. Mine had 1 disc. I also saw the 2008 version. Just to make sure I checked the price sticker and it said it came out 3/09/10 release date vs. the other one had some 2008 release date that I can't remember off the top of my head.
The only difference I saw between the two Blu-Ray's was this sticker:

Does anyone know the true answer? I want to make sure I wasn't gipped.. and given the 2008 version because I was given one disc only and I want to make sure I wasn't deprived of whatever new special features there were, if there were any... I am a huge Hendrix Fan, so that's why I care so much. So sorry if I sound a bit strange going off like this lol.

I saw your post saying it had 2? I specifically picked out the one that had a 2010 release. I am thinking of returning it since I payed more money for this version, and seeing if I reorder it at the store and seeing if the new one has 2 discs.

that makes no difference. for omega man it was the same thing. your last post said you bought the new release with one disc? check the features and compare. they probably just combined everything on a larger capacity disc, changed the sku and re-released it. and no worries, i love the man too

Default 2008 version is from Universal; 2010 is Sony Music

Their packaging looks the same, other than the sticker on the 2010 version labeling it "The Authorized Hendrix Family Edition Re-edited to feature all of the existing film footage" and the change of copyright fine print on the back, including substituting the "Legacy" logo for Universal's logo.

It would be worth a comparative review here

The only difference is the sound format and company who released it.

2008 release is in Dolby TrueHD 5.1
2010 release is in DTS-HD MA 5.1

2008 was released by Universal - Music
2010 was released by Sony Music Video

Those orange and purple stickers have appeared on all the Experience Hendrix/Legacy CD reissues. While they often use the same masters, the only real difference is the transfer from Universal to Sony.

I think what happened is the Family got the full rights and it was re-releaesd by Sony.
Sony gained distribution of the authorized Hendrix releases.
