that's what i did last year and updated my firmware on the 805 and it worked with no problems after that. you may need to use a different player to do the flashing from as some players will not play the disc properly. it will tell you about this with the literature that comes with the disc. i couldn't get my oppo or my toshiba hd-dvd player to work i had an older insignia blu ray player (that i gave my kid) and that worked. so don't think theres something wrong with the disc if it won't do anything when connected, it's either a setting on your player or it's the player period. that's the only downside of this. the requirements of the disc and what the receiver needs to see are picky!

Will I told the guy that I was using a PS3 as my Blu player ad he said that it should not be any problems. So I' guess we'll see here.
