Very true. Predator is one of the most perfectly paced action movies out there. What's really cool is it's not just an action, but a horror movie as well, with Arnie thrown right in the middle. That final showdown is one the greatest suspense sequences in cinema history imo.

This new blu ray is just rehashing all the old special features from the 2 disc dvd that was released a few years ago. Here's the product description from the dvd page on Amazon. It's the same thing word for word.

I held out on the initial release due to the PQ and lack of extras. Finally, this release gives me a reason to add one of my favorite action films to my collection.

Yeah, my friends are going to kill me. They've been begging me to watch Predator here since it came out on Blu-ray and I keep pushing it off and then finally we were going to watch it the end of the month. And now I have to tell them "nope... gotta wait a little longer now."

Ah well, at least a version with features is coming out. I don't own the Ultimate DVD so it'll be nice to actually see some of the features.

wont be. it has a commentary so its not the same disc. whether or not its a new transfer we dont know. im down either way since theres nothing wrong with the current one.

Well yeah that is what I am saying. All I am really interested in is if the transfer and audio is an improvement. I am satisfied enough with my current Predator that unless there is a major difference in those departments then I am not shelling out more cash. I am not going to spend $15-$20 just for extras.

The extras are the same as old 2 disc special edition dvd. I expect them to be in standard def as well.

I was going to get this on blu, but got turned off from the less than stellar user opinions on it, never mind the official reviews.

Eagerly looking forward to good news about a transfer upgrade.
