Both Available for Pre-Order for $27.99

I remember Videodrome on Bravo's Top Scariest Movies a few years ago. I'll have to watch it when it comes out.

Interested to read your opinions on "M" and "Walkabout," when you get a chance to view them.

Have they shipped early to you before?

That's great news. I just hope the news will be better and the longer version of Thin Red Line will be available as with the theatrical cut.

Well when referring to Criterion I specifically mean DVD/Blu-Ray. I think we all know Criterion put out anything and everything on Laser Disc. They didn't develop any real standards for what they published until DVD came along.

I never found Videodrome all that scary. It was a solid film in any case though.

I don't see anthing below standards in Criterion's Laser Disc library. It's full of great, diverse movies.

If they were to put out any anime they really need to release Masaaki Yuasa's Mind Game. Animated or not it would fit right in with the rest of the collection. Heck if CC is willing to do releases of "mini-series" like Berlin Alexanderplatz I wish they'd release Kemonozume or Kaiba (also by Yuasa). They're not anime for the 14 year olds who use mommy's money to buy dvds at walmart or best buy, thus no anime company has licensed them.

Fantastic movie. I saw it on PBS probably 30 years ago. That makes me... never mind.

We are probably close in age. With Hollywood putting out so much trash, it is good to know that there are so many other films worthy of viewing. Thanks.

I was going to get "Wings of Desire" next, but for some reason, I felt compelled to get "Paris, Texas" instead. It will arrive Wednesday. The plot is right up my alley, so to speak.

This is an awesome set! I'm on the final film now but it's definitely interesting as the films become more surreal in 1967.

If you enjoy Alan Resnais or Luis Bunuel films and if you want to see the evolution of Oshima's work which leads to "In the Realm of the Senses", this is a set that is definitely worth it!

Well, they did make "special features" a standard in which the other companies followed Criterion's lead. But there are still some films on LD from Criterion that have yet to be released on DVD/Bluray.
