Just checked BB.com, at 529$ for that sub it's overpriced.

It's great, fast, accurate goes very low but man the prices on Mirage and Energy are higher than here in canada.

I can get that sub for 399$ canadian so 385$us right now.

Almost 150$, more expensive, looks like going with the ED A2-300 is the right thing to do or even the A2-250 is quite good.

The S10.3 is a nice sub, however what you can get from ID companies can typically outperform or play equal to the S10.3 for similar or less money. I like Energys subs, but they seem overpriced.

I would say the S10.3 is as good as the Outlaw or Hsu STF-2 or eD A3s-250 and perhaps a little better then PA-120 although I haven't heard the PA-120, but why pay $529 when you can pay $250-350? If youre going to pay $529 youre better off getting the eD A2-300 or Hsu VTF2 MK3 or SVS PB 12 or Outlaw LFM-1 Plus.

Take the ESW-C10, why would you pay $400 for a sub that can only get to 33 hz, probably isn't as accurate and quick as these others, When you can pay equal or less and get better performance?

Anyhow I'll save up for my next upgraditis. The HK does a decent job at driving the C-500.
i have an hk avr 247 that drove my rc-10s when i had them, and it did a great job. the adcoms are cheap and built like tanks, so if you really wanted one i'm sure there's one out there for around $150(what i sold mine for).

if you feel really adventurous, you may be able to find a gfa-7400 like i did for $275...

The ESW-C10 as said already is defenately not worth it although it blows the old down firing ESW10 series out of the water in speed and accuracy it just does not get low enough to be good sub for HT or even for music. And the price tag is just way to high.

Yeah 350$ would be a fair price for the Omni S10 but considering the price I got the S10.3 for at 275$, I consider I had a great bang for the buck.

so i have taken the full leap into separates. i planned at first to only get a 3 channel amp, but the 3 channel i bought was damaged in shipping. i ended up with a great deal on a five channel adcom gfa 7400(100wpc @8ohms, 150wpc@4ohms). it took me about an hr and a half to get it integrated in the set-up as it's substantially larger than my old gfa 545ii. finding a place for it was quite difficult. i had to move my receiver to the top shelf and amp to the bottom. so can i tell a difference with no channels being driven by my receiver?...much to my surprise...yes...

most notably, my c-100 surrounds seem more lively. i haven't tested any blu rays yet, but regular tv sounded a little more lively as well. do i need an amp?...heck no, but for only $275 shipped to my door, how could i refuse?

Marantz and Arcam?

Loved what I heard when I listened to Arcam paired with Totems, I'm sure would be awsome with the Focus 140.

A bit Pricy on the amp tho. 2800 canadian for a 2 channel but the sound was absolutely amazing.
Was the A38 with Phono option, 2400 US MSRP.

I would go with the Arcam FMJ A18 for 1000$

i have heard them before, but really didn't do any critical listening until yesterday before i bought the bp10s. i listened to some bp7004's yesterday at magnolia(the closest match they had to the 6 1/2 woofers) and was pretty impressed. one thing, is these are the older model bp10s with soft dome tweeters as opposed to the newer aluminum dome tweets in the newer models. i did a little research last night, and it seems some feel that the older bp models were built out of much better materials(drivers and tweeters) than the current models. my only worry is being able to find a timbre matching ctr w/ the older model...

i'm still going to keep my c500s until i can save some more cash for a ctr. i like the sound, but i like the energy's too so we'll see...

WOW, today the wife and I went to hear the Energy CF-70s, I think I have fallen in love with Energy all over again... wow.... they had me smiling from ear to ear. Michael Bublay and some other singer(Charles Groban?), and they were just crankin bass and mid-range detail and upper detail, the soundstage it threw was just fantastic, I watched TDK in 2 channel stereo, and the power from the explosion and the bass I got just from the 2 speakers was nice, not intense slam, but about what I would expect from Linear speaker like Energys speaker are.

I know I have said that I want to get Dynaudios or Dalis, however for the cost to performance ratio of the CF-70s I may just upgrade to them... I loved them, heard them on the Yamaha 765 and the Denon 3310, both they sounded so Excellent. Jazz was bassy and tight and the mid-range was detailed, open, spacious.

The funny thing was the BB Mag Rep didn't know much about Energy and before we got into music and movies, he was asking me about Mirage, Viennas, Def Techs, and I was like, I own Energys, I want to hear these...... about half way through the First Michael Bublay song he turned to me and said, "I haven't really heard these yet, we've only had them out here for a week, and I think these are fantastic. I can't wait to get to my Energy training class now so I can really sell these." He went on to say that he hadn't heard any speaker throw a soundstage out there like this except the Mirages, I told him that Mirage and Energy were owned by API and were just different divisions, until Klipsch bought them.

He told me that these were there to replace the Ikons because many people were complaining that the Klipsch References were better or vice versa. Then he said well these are reference speakers so that is why we have them to replace the klipsch, and I told him, NO, these are their entry level speakers... when I said that he looked at me and asked so what do the references sound like? I told him I am not sure, and he was like, if these are this good, then I want to know how those are.

The intersting thing is the guy said that he thinks these speaker might have had 5 hours of play, and that my 1.5 hrs there were the longest hes know about them playing at one time.

Then another rep came in and changed the speakers to def techs, he stayed in there with me after he switched them back, and he asked me what speakers they were, I told him and he said, Hmm, these sound really nice.. then he goes, OH, these ones, yeah have the 50s and 30s in the back too... Man we need to get these up here, we could sell these.

IDK, I may save money over getting Dyns or Dalis and get Energys... AGAIN!

Hehe amazing and let me tell ya they sound even better after break in remember they sound bright in the beggining but sound stage is is as good as it will get.

Let me tell ya they will sound warmer then they actually did. I remeber saying they have an Energy Signature sound and they do and I really compared closely to the RC-70 and after braekin they don't sound any brighter.

In the begining they actually do and it's obvious even tho not as bad as a Polk. when they wrote the review on them I have a feeling they were not completely broken in.

To me they didn't even sound bright, maybe it was the receiver they were on, but they sounded smooth, so if they get smoother and warmer and the speed of the drivers improves with some break in, I am sure this could be something I possible go with.... I really really liked them, and my wife likes them too, were gonna go hear the dalis and dyns and totems and focals together, but if I can get as much or more from the Energys as these others I may buy the Energys, really and save about $1000 or more trying to get a setup... I want high end, but the Energys and the Dali Concepts have me really excited about speakers that are cost effective and wonderfully articulate and detailed at an affordable price.....

Given the sound I have heard from Paradigms, PSBs, Polks, Energy, Def Tech, Monitor Audio, and B&W. These CF-70s are right there with all of them.... I really like what Energy did this time with their speakers, a truely wonderful speaker IMO.

Well maybe another visit is in order. I was there last weekend and didn't see them, maybe that hadn't been set up yet.

I also heard the new Martin Logan Motions, NOPE..... they had them right next to the Energys, and the Energys were better IMO. Silky, smooth, bass, the Motions ARE NOT a replacement for the Preface.
