If it gets a good review score then I'll buy it. I was happy with the PQ of the first blu-ray. If I do end up getting the new version that will be about the 5th time I've bought it, D'oh!

A film like Predator will never get a perfect score, even with a remaster.

I think you're preaching to the choir. Some people just don't get it.

If you've been enjoying Predator in HD multiple times for the past couple years like myself, then I say it's not a bad deal.

But count me as one of the small minority that actually doesn't hate on the current disc.

And as I said, I don't think it can look much better than it already does, which is why I'm kind of surprised everyone is drooling over the idea of a remaster. Do people really think it's going to look that much better over the current version? Not to mention, look that much better that it's worth another $20 dollar purchase? As it is, this film was grainy, and dark and not very flashy to begin with. What are people expecting to be so great about a remaster?

I'm not sure why all the current Predator BD owners are so vehement about a new version of the film not looking any better than the current release when none of us know what the end result will be like either way. Even if it does come out looking basically the same at least I can feel content in knowing that Fox actually put forth an effort this time with a disc with breathing space using a more current encoding process.

Awesome news on the transfer as well as them including the previous dvd features. Now if only someone would do the same justice for Robocop1! >> another GREAT 80s classic! Released same year as Predator! =)

Well that is an easy problem to fix my friend. Just sell your current release on eBay and buy the release with the new transfer when it is released. That's what I'm doing.

Any movie going from mpeg2 to AVC will look better. Period. I'm not talking about taking out grain. Even if they used the exact same source, the AVC version would look better because it's better encoding tech by default. Add to the fact this may be on a 50 gig this time.

Yeah, but how much better is the question? That much better that makes it worth a double-dip? I'm skeptical on that.

I'm pretty sure FOX will not touch it with DNR. They don't really mess with DNR do they?

You usually don't have to worry with Fox.

Well I wasn't silly enough to buy a mpeg2 disk with no special features that based on the dvd releases, EVERYONE knew would be double dipped. So I have nothing to worry about.

Well, gee. I'm glad you're the authority on high definition mastering.

If the new blu comes out and has all the same exact "problems", don't say none of us warned you.
