Dharma didn't hire Juliet. Ben did, to figure out why women couldn't give birth on the island. Dharma was purged from the island and their facilities overtaken by Ben's Others. The palet drops didn't make any sense at all. Neither did the fact that women couldn't give birth ever get explained.

Having said that, who cares?!

but i care. those are the things i wished were answered. why couldnt women give birth or why did they die? what was so magical about the island or what made it that way? why was it hard to find?

Yes that whole thing I wish was cleared up. We honestly dont even know if smokey was jacob's brother or just imposing with his body/memories. We know smokey has the memories of the dead as he was talking like Locke when Jack called him out in the cave.

It's possible that the cave interacted negative with the brother based on his current emotional state .. or before he was knocked out. It's also possible everyone who goes in there turns into smoke and that Jack and Smokey could go inside because they had been given powers (to some extend) and Desmond found an immunity from the hatch. Still not sure how something that gives powers / turns people into smoke also has electro magnetic properties.. and since Desmond was immune to that it also means he was immune to changing. That means that the electro magnetism directly creates the smoke? I guess that explains why smokey always had little lightning bolts inside him .. although does not explain his sound fx

Thanks, I was going to say Juliet was hired by Richard either pretending to be Dharma or actually working for Dharma. Either way "fake" Dharma or real Dharma would still be making food drops. I would think even after the purge Dharma would still be hiring more scientists for their studies.

Dharma was wiped out by Ben. Long before Juliet was brought to the island and that was stated many times in the show.
RA also said it was Ben who was pushing the fertility research.
So, either DHARMA were real stupid dropping food to hostiles that wiped their scientists out, or they didn't even exist in 2004 when the food drops were happening, or I dunno what else...

I like this quote, it's pretty much how I felt after the finale:

"The ending was emotionally satisfying, but not intellectually satisfying. To me the mythology of Lost was a critical element to the appeal of the show, and in the end anyone needing a sense of intellectual closure was left high and dry. Turns out the series was an elaborate soap opera in which the compelling mysteries were just a prop"

all right when he was younger he wasn' t "evil", but afterward he became even worse than his psycho 'false) mother!(by the way how could he see and speak to his real mother??lol)
jacob did some wrong things but almost nine and the majority in order to do good(bring people on the island etc)
for me he 's not perfect or something, he 's just a guy who s trying to do hes best(toward his mother, the island etc) a lot like jack is actually

yea i know im nitpicking again, but i woulda liked them to go into a little detail about the "i forget what theyre called" the things that kept him out that gate thing. like what was it that was keeping him out, obviously it was some kind of invisible barrier but what and why?
