There appears to be some haters coming forward on these theories and I would like it to be said that I know to some people this is a very scary topic and thought that contradicts everything they were told and raised to believe. But the truth is: The scientific community is split on these topics The top scientists and archeologists uncovering these mysteries are even scratching their heads scrammbling to come up with hypotheisis. Humanity has it's pants around it's ankles, and as soon as we pull them up the faster we can grab at the big pictue

The universe revolves around earth.
The sun revolves around earth.
The earth is flat.
We are alone.

I dont think its a question of faith....I think its a question of tryin to figure out who is the TRUE Creator.... Cuz GOD, in essence, is an unknown...no one has evidence that he exists..but its a known fact the Someone/Something had to start everything off...but I REALLY doubt it was an advance civilization since it would not explain how they created the universe, because even they are not that advanced...I think it all boils down to believing in ONE creator its up to us to try believe who that "Creator" might be...

I do believe in these ancient alien theories and ancient people might have thought of them as "angels" which in reality they might have actually been aliens....its a possibility...but I dont think these theories should stir up inner conflict about ones beliefs...its just something that we as humans must accept that we are not alone....some people still dont wanna see this possibility but its kinda obvious that we aren't...too much evidence out there...

I have no problem believing in aliens. It doesn't threaten anything I believe in. Having said that, most alien theories are nothing more than fanciful science fiction.

Unless you have some new discovery to blow the supposed cover up conspiracy wide open

I wasn't trying to say there's a cover up conspiracy, I'm saying because of the dogma that comes with aliens, scientists won't go near it in fear on damaging their career, making it near impossible to get any real funding to do any real consistant research.

Similar to Copernicus having to study and research his findings and theories in secret, so not to tarnish his career or be put to death for contradicting the catholic church.

However, I maybe wrong on this, but I believe in 2008 the vatican announced that a belief in extra terrestials does not contradict the belief in God.

The way I look at it, probably every mention of the Gods in the Bible could be explained as being extra-terrestial encounters. Think about it, if aliens could travel at or above the speed of light, their visits to Earth 2000-2500 years ago could seem just like yesterday to them.
Yes, I agree. I lived in a Catholic seminary run by monks for three years. I have questioned my faith as well. And one should continue to question one's faith till the day we die.

Thank God for Science Fiction. Without it we would not have some of the greatest movies ever made. I still contend that Ancient Alien theory has a strong foundation. And yes it is a theory. I like shows that stretch my imagination and brain.

Ha ha yes, so do I. But there is a fine line between "stretching" it and "rotting" it

"According to the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Post Detection Protocol: Once an extraterrestrial radio signal is confirmed, news of the event should be kept secret, until the authorities have been notified, and the government will decide whether or not to make contact"

Good one! But I would rather rot my mind on the History Channel than on BS like Dancing with the Stars.

+2

And to the poster who has said that my Catholic Faith was never strong to begin with, not hardly...I believe in the theory of Creation, much more so than Evolution, which like I tried to allude to in an earlier post in that this ancient alien theory may in fact prove that very theory. The Adam & Eve story, for example, in that Adam & Eve may in fact be the first modern humans who were cross-breeded between aliens and pre-historic man OR two pure bred aliens themselves. Because if God mad us in His own image, then we as modern humans may in fact be the aliens.

In the new BD release of Outlander, the Viking/Sci-Fi cross film, Earth was an abandoned "seed colony" by the humanoid alien race. The seeds being of course, humans.

And if you saw the series finale of Battlestar Galactica, where you have the remaining crew of the fleet landing on Earth during primitive man time, and spreadig out across the globe to set up colonies around the world.

So yes, modern sci-fi uses this ancient alien theory to a great degree.

But like I said, if anything, the ancient alien theory bolsters the authenticity of Creation over the unproven Evolution theory. Why do I say unproven? Because we as humans haven't been around long enough to witness it. All we know is that throughout time, different lifeforms have existed. We have never found fossil evidence of the "in between" evolution stages. That is of course, if you discount the "evolution chart of humans". And I say that because of the Big Foot phenomenon. Why would such creatures supposedly still exist if evolution changed us all? How could a small group of specimens still exist if evolution were true? Why do apes still exist if we evolved from apes? It makes no sense.

Anyway...

I don't believe in the theory of evolution all that much neither. Because the fact is that the large majority of species that ever existed on Earth are extinct. Why? Because they couldn't evolve and adapt to new changes, or because each species were created as is?
I disagree with that part. Most were hunted to extinction or their habitats were destroyed or killed by dramatic and immediate weather shifts that didnt allow enough time for migration.

OK, fair point.

But you know, when the Dinosaurs went extinct, the surviving mammals were already present at the time of the extinction, but yet survived and went on to thrive in the post-asteroid hit era. So, how do you go from a land that is dominated by fish and reptiles, yet mammals suddenly appear and survive the asteroid hit. What did the mammals evolve from? Even if there is some evolution going on, I can see how fish may evolve into land based reptiles as each class of species lays eggs as a means of reproduction, but mammals give live births. Kind of hard to see what they evolved from.

I think the reason I have a hard time believing in the hardcore Evolutionists, is that there are just to many holes in their theory, like the one I just explained, that they tend to be like Al Gore and his Global Warming Theory.

I don't know...I'm not a scientist, but I play one on Blu-ray.com.

Yeah, I get a kick out this guy's hair too. Except everytime I see it, I say, "Dude, get a haircut. You're not impressing anybody." I wear a short-cropped "high 'n' tight" cut myself so when I see crazy ass hairdoos like this, I just .

No there isn't any hard scientific evidence of alien encounters. However, saying that people make up stories today as in the past misses the point of the series.

What the series really presents to us are stories by those who have experienced or were an eyewitness to something so incredible, so unbelievable, so unnatural, or so unworldly, that they told the stories in their own terms and words as they understood them. Some stories eventually were collected or evolve into becoming the world's greatest religions.

I lived in Phoenix during the triangular shaped sightings that occurred there over ten years ago. I didn't see them believe or not. However, I doubt that all those people made up stories of what they had seen. Some no doubt embellished them or exaggerated the accounts so much that what they saw become nothing more than tall tales. But even the tall tales are based on some kind of event or eyewitness to so some unexplainable phenomenon. People just like to add more incredible stuff that isn't true. The world's religions are full of that stuff including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and all forms of Paganism.

The series is great stuff to watch whether for entertainment and fun, for inspiration, for knowledge of the fringe stuff, and so on. The problem is and what makes it so unscientific is that there are countless explanations from the credible to the incredible, from truth to non truth, and lots of hearsay, folklore, and legends mixed in. No credible scientist worth his publications is going to study it or publish papers on it because there simply isn't any solid evidence. However, that isn't to say that the ancient alien theory isn't true.

I am a scientist, and I for one know for sure that the universe is teeming with abundant life forms. But I don't have any hard evidence to support that. The best way thought of so far to prove just that is SETI. A real communication or intercepting a transmitted message from an alien civilization will be it for all except the hopeless skeptic who wouldn't believe it even if s/he shook hands with an alien being.

It's just so much fun to speculate and present our own take on this stuff. That's what a lot of the interviewees are doing in the series too. They don't care or give a hoot if you believe it or not. It's what they think happened or what explains the events and encounters of something unexplainable.

Well said. I had a blast watching this series! One thing that makes life worth living is the mysteries that exist in life.
