When I heard that multiple IMAX movies were going to be released on Blu-ray exclusively (with Blu-ray chosen partially because of the worldwide lead), I figured it was great news.
I haven't seen any reviews yet, but being IMAX these should look great. I also just noticed the 4 IMAX movies coming out November 13th are only $13.95 each on Amazon, but don't seem to be selling very well (they have low rankings). For those interested, here are some (non-affiliated) links: http://www.amazon.com/Antarctica-Adv...blurayforum-20 http://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Spirit-...006125-1298829 http://www.amazon.com/Africa-Serenge...006125-1298829 http://www.amazon.com/Australia-Land...blurayforum-20 If those don't work, people may have to search for: IMAX: Africa the Serengeti IMAX: Alaska Spirit of the Wild IMAX: Antarctica -- An Adventure of a Different Nature IMAX: Australia Land Beyond Time although ordering one looks like it brings the others up as options. I just ordered all 4, so I would be near the front in case a bunch of people order them, and they don't end up with enough stock. ![]() --Darin Last edited by darinp2; 11-03-2007 at 08:11 PM. |

They're only 40 minutes so that's probably why they're so cheap but the Africa one appears to be voiced over by James Earl Jones and the Alaska one by Charlton Heston

Just picked up Africa-The Serengeti. Looks as though (for once) we have been lucky here and got something early? Presume it's the same one you will see in the US of A?
I would say quality is close to that of of Planet Earth. A beaut production - James Earl Jones (was he realy Darth Vader?) rocks, the soundtrack being African music is cool and the images awesome with the guys (and hot chicks) behind the cameras not being to afraid to get right in there when the chomping starts. While it's only a 40 min job, it cost me about half a normal release so value is there. I'm headn' back for the others in the series. But maybe not the Ausy one - too many cute and furry animals there for my likin' - I mean liking. For those techo buffs out there the back of the box tells me: 40 min / 1994/ Color (shouldn't that be colour?) Regions ABC / 1920X1080P / Widescreen 16:9 / 25 GB single disc Doldy Digi Audio (English, German, French, Spanish,Hungarian, Mandarin,Czech, Korean & Ork - Nanu Nanu people) Subs in English and Mandarin |

Mmmmm might backtrack on that slightly - just re-watched an episode from Planet Earth and then IMAX again and yip, Planet Earth would be better Pic and Sound wise by maybe a lil' bit more than a small margin in my humble, lowly judgement.
