Sorry if this may have already been mentioned here - I only skimmed back a couple pages, but Fav's indicated he "might" do IM3 in 3D in the bottom of this story from the Dark Horizons website. Check it out HERE, & scroll to the Very bottom to read his comment.

I don't think it was posted, but I remember reading something along the lines of that a while ago. Favs was asked if they'd up-convert IM2 to 3D and he said no, but they might make IM3 in 3D.

It's starting to sound like all the Marvell movies will be in 3D after Thor. Unless they go with the smaller lower budget movies for the lesser known characters.

True. I can't see the likes of Ant Man or other lesser known characters receiving big budgets just so they can be part of the 3D craze.

Emily Blunt To Play The Villain In Iron Man 3?

Apparently, the actress is Marvel Studios top choice for the villain in the next Iron Man movie while it's also reported here that Gwyneth Paltrow will not appear in The Avengers...
According to British newspaper The Daily Mail (a far more respectable publication than something like The Sun!) their "inside sources" have told them that producers are, "...hoping to land British star Emily Blunt to play the villain in the next Iron Man instalment."

You might remember that Blunt was up for the role of Black Widow before Scarlett Johansson but had to drop out due to other commitments. That and the fact she worked with Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston on The Wolfman makes it easy to believe she may still have a good relationship with Marvel Studios.

What do you guys think about this information? The paper also talk about Scarlett being in The Avengers as if it's new news (showing their lack of comic book movie knowledge I suppose). Could it be possible that she's actually the villain in that movie instead? I think that Emily would make a great Madame Masque!

Emily Blunt seems to be a decent actress. I cannot recall her performances, even after checking IMDB. Was it not rumored that she turned down Captain America for a role in Batman 3? In any case, I am glad to be back in this thread. Iron Man 3 is going to

After reading about her on Wikipedia (briefly), that definitely seems like a character that could pop up. Though, her story does seem slightly similar to what they did in Iron Man 2 with Black Widow

. Iron Man 3 could have both her and Mandarin. Iron Man 2 had Vanko and Hammer. The Batman movies seem to balance out multiple villains.

I certainly hope so. I was filled with crushing disappointment when it was announced that she would be unavailable to play Black Widow in IM2!

I sat through Joe Johnston's horrendous adaptation of The Wolfman, simply because she was in it! I can't help myself, she is so beautiful I will gladly sit through any old gaudy piece of trash if she is in it, even if it be for just a second!

Disney To Distribute ‘Iron Man 3′ and ‘The Avengers’

Walt Disney Pictures is spending $115 million to become the worldwide marketer and distributor for the upcoming Marvel Studios productions Iron Man 3 and The Avengers. Paramount Pictures will remain the distributor for the 2011 releases Thor (May 6th) and Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22nd). This is expected news as I had heard that Disney has been trying to take over marketing and distribution for the whole catalog of upcoming titles. I heard that at one point, Disney was “this close” to handling the worldwide marketing for Iron Man 2. This also confirms that Disney is hoping to have Iron Man 3 on screens in either 2012 or 2013. BURBANK, Calif. – October 18, 2010 – The Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios announced they have reached an agreement under which Paramount will transfer its worldwide marketing and distribution rights to Disney for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers and Iron Man 3. Paramount will remain the worldwide distributor of the upcoming films, Thor and Captain America, as well as the previously released Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Under terms of the new deal, Disney will pay Paramount $115 million for the transfer of the distribution rights to Iron Man 3 and The Avengers to be paid on the theatrical release dates. These monies will serve as a minimum guarantee against the distribution fees.

“In completing this agreement, Disney will now assume worldwide marketing and distribution of The Avengers and Iron Man 3 and leverage these two highly-anticipated films across the multiple global platforms of The Walt Disney Company,” said Rich Ross, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “We appreciate the tremendous momentum that Paramount established with these iconic Marvel characters and look forward to propelling the brand even further in the coming years.”

“Five years ago, when Paramount and Marvel made our initial deal, both our businesses were in very different places,” said Brad Grey, Chairman & CEO of Paramount Pictures. “We are grateful for the partnership we have had with the terrific Marvel team over these years and proud of the work we have done together. Today, this new agreement is the right deal for Paramount, for Marvel and for Disney. We look forward to working together on Thor and Captain America, and we wish Disney and Marvel the utmost success, in what we know will be a very productive and wide-ranging partnership.”

“Paramount has been a wonderful partner in helping Marvel Studios bring our characters to the big screen,” said Alan Fine, Office of the President, Marvel Worldwide, Inc. “This agreement makes sense now that Marvel is part of The Walt Disney Company.”

Paramount will release Marvel Entertainment’s Thor and Captain America worldwide beginning on May 6 and July 22 of 2011, respectively. The Avengers will be licensed to Epix under Paramount’s existing pay television arrangement.

Disney has also revealed the release date of Iron Man 3.

Iron Man 3 hits theaters May 3rd, 2013.
