Deadly Aliance is the exact opposite. Dail a combos are predetermined canned button commands that result in combos. This was started in mk3 and used in umk3, trilogy, and mk4. In DA you could literally create your own combos. I personally like that it's going back to dial a combos because mk doesn't have the grappling system to be a truly competive 3d fighter without them.
