I would buy that in a heartbeat.
I haven't heard anything, but I can't see why they wouldn't get around to it at some point.

All good choices. That bottom one's questionable though.

Enjoy!

Oh, and it's Yojimbo, not Yo, Jimbo

Holy smoke, I thought it was Yo, Jimbo!, a movie about Jimbo Jones.

I just looked up Yojimbo instead; it's evidently about dudes running around with big knives. Colour me embarassed.

Amazon typically has higher prices than many other online retailers for Criterion Blu-Ray. I'd shop around before buying from them.

Oh awesome. After taking almost a week to fulfill my order of Criterion Blu Deep Discount sent me some book about the New York Yankees instead of one of my Criterion's. I swear it's like that company is trying to antagonize me. It's not enough to simply take forever to ship, now they even send me a book of the sports team I despise above all others. You suck DD! Last time I ever order from them.

Yeah, I guess other people who are regulars to DeepDiscount are either used to this or have better results. However, for us that order once a year, if even that, we seem to get the short end of the stick. Their shipping methods are the true definition of "snail mail." I keep wondering how long does it actually take for something to ship from Illinois to Rhode Island?

If Illinois is where it ships from, it takes a month and a couple weeks to get from there to Kentucky. I think it is run by Brad Pitt's character from True Romance or something. The only way I order from that place again is if it's some amazing sale. I'm talking about some dream-like amazing sale. I'd pay more to Amazon or Criterion's site rather than wait a month to get a movie that I saved a couple bucks for.

I've probably made only about a half dozen orders from Deep Discount before and aside from their aweful shipping time I have received wrong products not once but twice! With Amazon on the other hand I have probably averaged 20+ orders per year for several years now and have never once received an incorrect ptoduct.

I have never got a wrong product, but as well, I stay on Deepdiscount's *** by e-mailing alot until they ship my order. When I order from them I usually wait a week, then e-mail about once or twice a week until they ship it. It still doesn't work, but I never got something I didn't order.

I use DD only when the deals are good. Their CS usually is not very good and others have had many shipping disasters with them. I live in Chicago and usually get my orders from them in a day or 2. Strangely, my order that shipped on friday is still not here, which is rare. Reading your comments above has brought on that sinking feeling with DD and now I'll need to call them tomorrow to see why they have screwed up shipping 1 disc 20 miles. Unless they have another shipping facility, there could be a problem.

Same here....stuff I wanted were not on sale. But if the 50% is coming soon, I can be patient.

Just an FYI that the order I made on DD last week came in on Tuesday...so, only 4 business days of waiting which is pretty cool.

KNDY,

I've seen that you haven't updated your CINEMA SHRINE in a while. Someday I need to do some pics too, but I like looking at others.

KNDY, I just took a peek at your pics and I have 2 of those same wooden DVD racks too. My wife thinks I'm going to open a store in my basement, as they are filled along with another smaller rack. I can't remember where I got that rack from years ago, but can't seem to find another. The little wooden seperators are nice. You remember where you got yours from.

Just purchased my B2G1F CC movies at B&N after work:

Revanche
Playtime
Chungking Express

Besides the membershio discount of 10%, they were marked with a 10% off sticker as well. That brought the 2 titles to about $32. So, 3 titles for $64 plus tax is not that bad, and will suffice until their 50% sale hits. That's just over $21 per film...not a far cry from the 50% off.

Would do the B2G1 but the main ones I want from Criterion is the Rosselini War Trilogy, Akerman, the two Bergman sets and the Alexanderplatz. These are all pricey and hope the BN 50% off comes soon.

I will need to do an update soon. I've been stalking my local Hollywood videos that are closing and the arthouse DVD's are now at 40% off ($5.99 each). You'd be amaze how many people don't touch the foreign area (outside of Asian cinema) but they should be going 50% off and 60% off soon and I wan to add more Russian, German and French films to my collection.

Hehe...if you mean the shrine, it's called the Home Depot $26 special! Seriously, I kept having to spend money on shelving units and it was getting too costly. My arthouse/silents, let alone my Blu-ray collection is growing too quickly.

So, I purchased the wood that people make fences with...$1.75 each or something like that and got 9 of them and then told them to cut a large 12 or so footer plank and made it about an inch higher than a regular DVD or Blu-ray case standing vertically and you get about 17 pieces or so from 12 ft. So, it's a cheap alternative for a shelving unit. Granted, you can paint it to make it look better.

But if you have large collection, it's the cheapest way to go and it's stackable.

Can anyone who's done the replacement case deal using Paypal tell me how long it's taken to receive your cases? Or if you ever got them at all?

I stopped ordering from DeepDiscount a long time ago. It doesn't matter how much money I could save in some of their sales - it's not worth it. Good customer service is worth more than saving a few dollars, in my opinion.

I placed an order for a case about a week ago and was told it would be 3-5 weeks until I received the case (got a quick response via email). Obviously I have not yet received the case but I'll try to keep you updated.
