Default Rambo -- Blind Buy?

I have never seen any of the Rambo movies. I think I am going to blind buy the first 3. Right now it is $23 on Amazon. My two questions are

1- Do you recommend a Blind Buy?
2- For those of you who own this, do the movies come in separate cases?

First Blood is a genuinely great movie. It has great action, sure, but the story itself is so important and relevant. It's an excellent film I'd even recommend to non-action fans.

The sequels are just good action movies. The only sequel I say is worthwhile is the newest, Rambo. It looks stunning on blu-ray and the extended cut is so cheap ($13.99 preorder)! The film itself is good, but the last act is literally one of the most violent sequences in the history of film and deserves to be seen and heard in hi def.

NOTE: The original films don't look fantastic in hi def, due to their age, but since you've never owned them, they're surely worth the money.

What are you looking at that's $23? The set of all four is $38.

Anyway, the movies are pretty different from each other. First Blood is more of a drama than a straight up action movie, but there is some good action. The heart of the movie though is definitely the story.
Rambo 2 leans more toward action, but still has a pretty decent storyline, but definitely more action than First Blood. Rambo 3 is in this same category, but the story is definitely the weakest of the 3.
Rambo actually has a pretty good story, but ups the ante for the violence, as it's depicted pretty realistically. Imagine what a truck-mounted .50 caliber machine gun would do to a person and that's pretty much what you see.

So . . . that being said, you just have to go into them knowing that they're all different movies, but entertaining in their own ways. Kind of like the Rocky series, where 1,2, and 6 were pretty well written, serious affairs, but 3 and 4 were like Rocky as a superhero. The "fillers" weren't the best, but still entertaining as hell.

I should have rethought my initial post. I am going to blind buy these movies. My main question is regarding the packaging. Does the set come in separate cases?

Yes, each movie is contained in their own separate case.

Hm, that's weird . . . it's cheaper to buy the first three in the set and the fourth separately rather than the four disc set . If you buy this set, yes, they come in separate cases.

I'm a huge Sylvester Stallone fan so ofcourse I say yeah go for it!

But in reality I think blind buys is much up to if you like the style of Stallones films. I can't believe there is anybody who haven't seen a single of his films..

I've seen many of his films, just none of the Rambo series. As far a blind buying goes, I do it all the time.

It is a great action movie. One of my favorites, I'll be buying the Extended Edition since my copy somehow got lost.

Since Rambo 2008 is in 7.1, will it sound any different? I mean all my BD's use all 7 speakers thanks to the matrix mode in my receiver.
