I ordered cases for 3 movies last Friday. No email shipping confirmation yet. Has anyone got any extra replacement cases they aren't using?

I ordered 2 the first time (The Third Man, The Man Who Fell to Earth) and got an email response within 2 days saying they received payment and stuff...less than a week later, they arrived. The email said 3-5 weeks, but I got it in NC very fast. I am about to order a bunch more since I have purchased a few of the digipak releases over the last couple of weeks. I'm waiting until I can order most of them for $2.50 after the first initial 2.

You shouldn't have a problem...Criterion is good about actually sending stuff to you...

I know what you are talking about. A video store around me closed this spring and I racked up on the foreign section for $1 or $2 a movie, since I waited until the last day, since no one touched the foreign section. Every disc looks new and I got out of there thinking I got a steal that no one has seen these films and I got them for no more than $2. No Criterions was there but I got alot of films I wanted.

I just watched Yojimbo for the first time and Holy Mother of God! What a fantastic-looking BD! This may be the finest B&W Blu-ray I've seen. Everyone who thinks there's no need for B&W Blus needs to see this ASAP.

Huge applause for Criterion on this one!

My cases were ordered when they were first announced as being available. It took a couple of months due to "stock issues."

Deep Discount's warehouse is literally four buildings from where I work, and it took them a month to ship to a BD I ordered from them to my house (20 miles away). The price was worth it though - Blade Runner (the 5-disc edition) for about $15.

Deep Discount is known for their pricing however their shipping is the worst. Anyone who ships anyone anything media mail needs hit upside their head. Media Mail can take anywhere from a couple weeks to a month and it isn't that much cheaper than first class.

Way too impatient here to wait the prices while sometimes good are an exhange for your sanity while waiting forever just to see the item you ordered.

On another note I wonder if there will be any early streets at best buy for Mystery Train. looks like their pricing is back up to 34.99 for that Criterion title.

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Kind Hearts and Coronets
The Man Who Fell to Earth (DVD and Blu-ray editions)
The Milky Way
The Phantom of Liberty

They have to special order new packing slips in order to fit the state's official name: The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Ironic that the smallest state has the longest name, must be some sort of state wide Napoleon complex.

Some great films there that we'll never see a Criterion Blu-ray of.

I have all the titles except Billy Liar, for some odd reason I tried watching it twice and just couldn't get into it. I own every single other title.

Criterion is losing alot of stuff. Almost every Buñuel and another Godard. Sad. I still need to get some of those Buñuel films. I wonder if they will discount them on the site like they did for the last bunch?

It would be nice, but it doesn't appear that they're going to do that this time. I hope it changes, though.

Since it's Friday, I'll just order the ones I want Sunday night since I don't think no one will have an order completed by then to sell-out. Hopefully they change the prices sometime before that.

I passed up "Diary of the Chambermaid", "Phantom of Liberty" and "The Milky Way", expecting to get them via the BN sale possibly. They were not my priority for Bunuel titles and had many times to get them cheap. But checked on bn.com and it's not part of the b2g1...oh well.

But I can understand why these are going OOP and it's good for StudioCanal in a business sense. In a way, it may be good for us because these are older titles that we don't even know if Criterion would have released on Blu. If SC is determined to bring all these titles out on Blu...then all power to them!

With that being said, I have not yet purchased a SC Blu-ray release but if these titles are going to go on Blu...then I'll more than likely start purchasing them.

The SC Blu releases thus far (the US only got 3) have not been all that great. Ran was a disgrace, and Contempt, while I had nothing to compare it to, didn't look so hot. I think The Ladykillers is the only one that looked pretty good.

Studio Canal Blu ray releases don't hold a candle to Criterion...but if it is the ONLY way to get such titles on BD, then I guess I won't be getting them. I will continue to collect the many many Blus that Criterion will eventually put out. So far, I have not been let down!

After saying I was going to order Contempt on blu from SC alot of times in the past, I ended up not. I just thought my Criterion dvd is wonderful, and no need to give Lionsgate money for releasing a half*** transfer on blu that took away from Criterion's chance of releasing it. I rather have Criterion dvds than Lionsgate blu-rays.

Also I find this new OOP announcement a pain, due to it being announced right now, a time where everything seems like must buys from the new release standpoint, and a month away from a rumored 50% sale. This sucks. Looks like the Buñuel films are first for me, then I can wait for the new releases when/if the B&N sale happens (which the sale was going to be used for box-sets, the Rohmer set being my first target.). But I will still be getting Red Desert as soon as it comes out. No stopping me on that.

+1. If SC want to release titles akin to the MoC series and the Criterion Collection they need to step up the quality, especially if they are pulling titles from CC's library.

Hmm... I just might be pulling the ol' trigger on The Man Who Fell To Earth before the price skyrockets. I have mixed feelings about the film but quite adore Bowie. I've only seen it on DVD thus far--it'd be fun to be blown away by the Blu-ray.
