Hey dudes. Total Recall's new blu-ray looks excellent. That's how Predator new BD should have looked.

The only explaination i quess is that it's been postponed for now, weird as the studio have obvoiusly spent time and money on remastering the picture.

Their running out of time though as it'll only be the 20th anniversary for another 6 months.

Judging by this comparison http://www.dark-red.de/trecall/i_b_u_trecall.html the new Blu-ray isn't exactly a substantial upgrade from the old. It's an improvement, but I don't think I'm in any hurry to import this just yet (Especially for the price) so i think I'll wait for the UK to get theirs and pick it up on sale.

If you look at the tenth screen grab with the grinder coming towards the camera, on the right side look at the spinning spikes. The new BD seems to have erased the defined points. There's also dirt specs in that grab missing that was in the old BD, so I wonder if a little bit of digital cleanup was used and accidentally smeared the spikes in the process. Other then that one shot though, It looks like a pretty good image.

I'm going to buy the steelbook release on Amazon.de. It's on there for £22.99, I think it's the uncut version.
