I think there's a whole new audience of people whose husband/son/boyfriend has an Xbox that will buy it to bowl

Oh and again, that $150 is a placeholder price, they're going to see what Sony prices MOVE at.

Pretty much everyone I've talked to agrees that anything over $99.99 for Natal is suicide, and if they get it down to $129 with Fable, they're going to sell a pile of them

Well they failed to show me why I would want it. Im not expecting much from Sony's Move either and after seeing Kinect my expectations are now lower than ever.

Sony had better not drop the ball with the price on Move like they did with when the PS3 first came out (eventhough they had no choice).

Well, I'm sure they'll have some eye candy like the "flexible screen" and the swords they did last year

With both of these technologies the real key is "OK, now let's see you do it in a real game"

That doesn't do anything approaching those. You'd need the horsepower of an entire Wii just to do those demos, and probably then some

Nevertheless, its proof that there is a way that it could be applied in a way that would satisfy hardcore gamers.

One point I do want to make is that Natal and Move support should be optional and not mandatory.

I'm specifically talking about making the tech demos from last year work in an actual game. The amount of processsing power they take to pull off is prohibitive. Not that hardcores couldn't want motion control.

Nevertheless, MS showed today that they weren't interested in the hardcore gamer with Kinect. Like you said MS is trying to target that crowd that bought the bought the Wii for the non-gaming reasons, which was the majority of them.
Despite my disappointment I do think Kinect offers FAR more to that crowd than the Wii does. Im just not so sure that crowd can be used twice ("I've already got a Wii, why Kinect?") or that market has been saturated.

I just hope that Sony doesnt try to exclusively covet that crowd also and really shows a way that it can be used to give regular ole gamers a new experience. I just hope they don't ruin that by selling Move at a ridiculous price.

E3 at this point is Sony's to lose.

Considering there was only Wind Waker on the gamecube, I'm happy to get 2 Zelda entries on the Wii. I just hope this one is Ocarina Water Dungeon tough.

The last Zelda was just a gamecube game with the controls ported to Wii wasn't it?

It came out on Gamecube too.

Looks like they've kept lifesucking woman off the stage thus far. Maybe they finally figured out so horrible she is.

I REALLY want to see the studies that Reggie's citing, virtually everything he claimed is antithetical to experience. Methinks that there's some major twisting of reality here

Who wouldn't want to buy a Kinect after seeing you can pet animals and do dance moves?? Despite the fact that you can do all of that in the real world and in many cases for free!!

Kinect has success written all over it for the hardcore gamer. Who needs a cat or a dog when you have a Kinect?!

I will give MSFT props for going to 802.11n. Wish the PS3 Slim had done that.

I'd love to see Windwaker ported to the Wii with widescreen support. That game was way underappreciated by those who felt it was a child's game.

My only complaint about that game was that it seemed like it was a few dungeons short and that it relied way too much on sailing. I've read that Nintendo actually cut two dungeons out of that game and it would be just awesome if they re-instated them for a Windwaker Directors Cut.

The childlike animation was not my difficulty with Windwaker. I did feel that sailing was a little overdone and tedious, and the quests and dungeons were easy or short.

I can kind of agree with that, but I felt that the game offered plenty of great moments that rival the best in the Zelda series. The Wind Temple was one of my fav and I just loved the tune that went with that temple.

There are a lot of touches that I enjoyed with Wind Waker, and I'm very much enjoying the DS based sequels. Phantom Hourglass had more clever puzzles than Wind Waker though. I need to take the next one out of shrinkwrap.
