Sure, many posters here actually like DNR, but should not mistake it as a "better" image, only different.
Well of course they added DNR that's obvious. I was trying to explain why people may have thought because of the increased clarity, that this was a new scan .

I think it's the same just using avc, less compression, DNR, and artificial sharpening.

Then you should have actually said all of that

The waxy Arnold is just one scene that lasts like 2 seconds, in the immediatelly following scenes when he's talking to that old general and to Dillon, there's no more waxy Arnold.

Some of the comparison frames between the new and old show slight reframing; it would have to be a new scan of the film for that to occur, no?

It *is* a new transfer.

Insiders have already confirmed that.

Some new screenshots courtesy of dm8000 from AVS:

I hate to say it, but this release is looking worse and worse. I'm trying to be optimistic but that last shot makes the water look like gelatin. Not to mention major smearing in all of them.

Last last capture may just be the worst thing I have ever seen. The waterfall actually looks like some is dumping salt in the water.

...and how does it look in motion?

Commenting on 3rd party screen shots without seeing it for yourself is ridiculous.

lol why even screen cap this?

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/448...shot011712.png

That part is insanely blurry on ALL versions of Predator.

Wow I just thought of something really cool. Lets cover all those pictures with shyt loads of noise and grain and it will look really cool.

Oh wait, it will look like the old release .

I love how people keep PURPOSELY picking bad shots knowing full we'll those shots look just as bad on every version that's ever been available. It's like people are going out of their way to bash this release.

I had a chance to watch the first 30 minutes or so of the new disc yesterday, and I don't know why people say that waxy Arnold cap is the only shot like that in the movie... it's not even the worst shot in that scene. Where there wasn't a lot of grain in the original, it looks okay, and if all you want from life is a glossy version of Predator, I suppose you should pick this up That's something I've never had any particular desire for, so I'll wait for a proper version before spending any more money on this movie, whether it be on this format or another... though some movies just seem to be eternally confined to trashy bargain-bin home video.

Well, it isn't designed to be illegally downloaded and watched on a computer monitor.
